I need a new dentist. The guy I see has all the charm of a used car salesman. I hate going in and feel worse after. I asked questions about 'silver' filings and now have to get his long, patronizing speech about the safety of mercury everytime he sees me. blech!

So looking for dentist reccomendations in the Lebanon, Albany, Corvallis area. My ideal dentist would be: not icky, if not mercury-free at least mercury informed, and breastfeeding/pregnancy informed

Thanks!

I have no idea what his feelings are on fillings but we always went to Dr. Clark in Corvallis. I liked the guy he has as a hygenist and my kids were OK with him. I went there because our orthodontist reccomended him and he took our insurance.

We use Dr. Sparks. He is really good with our daughter, Aubrey, and the office is very kid-friendly. I haven't asked him about mercury in fillings, I will do that next time I see him. We did a CLW, which happened around 4 years, and they didn't give us a hard time about it. One of their hygienists is a home-birthing, extended breastfeeding mama, so I think she smooths the way for the rest of us.

I know a number of people who see Dr. Black. He is known for being good with kids and breastfeeding friendly.

Hope that helps.
