Our kitchen is tiny...it's "U" shaped and only fits one person, two at the most. We have only 4 cabinets and 1 drawer. We eat at home and make complex meals often, and therefore we have lots of pots, pans, bowls, etc. They live stacked around on our counter, which looks really awful.

The landlord just came over with his 5 y.o. and the kid looked at the counter (right there when you walk in) and he said "What a wreck!!!" and my feelings were hurt and I'm frustrated.

We have no room in the kitchen for an island or anything else for that matter, but we could put something small in the dining room for organization. Any great ideas? Thank you.

Other than that I would suggest a narrow china cabinet for storage or even a cheap Sauder armoire. They have some nice looking ones for under $200.

A few other ideas I came up with:
*hanging baskets. Hang some from the ceiling for fruits and vegetables. Hang some on the wall for serving utensils, linens, small kitchen tools.
*invest in some collapsible kitchen tools. They make storage bowls, measuring cups and spoons, etc in spacesaving styles now.
*pull everything out of your kitchen that isn't used weekly and store it elsewhere.
