Hi,

This is my first post in the diaper forum--and only my second at MDC. Thank you all for sharing so much knowlege here!

DH and I are adopting our first child--a boy from China.
I've started gathering a starter stash of cloth diapers to try out some different things and need to figure out what to wash in. I've read past posts on laundry, but am still confused.

I'm trying out pocket diapers (FB, Snapping Turtle and Baby Blanket w/ CPFs, LizaJane, MOE and Joeybunz inserts) and AIOs w/ fleece outers (Sugarpeas snap in diapers and LHC windpro).

We have a frontloading washing machine and normal water. We currently use Arm & Hammer free liquid on our clothes and are quite happy with it.

Cost isn't a big factor. I'm willing to use a different detergent for the diapers--but only one. Also, I really don't like scented products. Suggestions????

Thank you!

Catherine

Hi Holli,

I noticed you post here too. Does it count for junior hyena status if I snatched the last fleece sugar peas cover off a website and stumbled onto a custom slot for a Happy Tushies changing pad?

Hi Catherine and congratulations!!

I just wanted to caution again Arm and Hammer Free because it contains something that isn't penis-friendly. It's got something in it that has been known to cause red sores on the tips of penis'. I'd have to look up what it is for sure...I don't know off-hand.

I used All free and clear personally.

Just use the Arm & Hammer, it should work just fine. Washing diapers doesn't really have to be a complex chemistry experiment.
