My DS is 4 1/2 months old and teething badly. He fusses constantly at the breast, pulls off all the time, chews on his hands and anything else he can find to get into his mouth, drools BUCKETS, and loves when I rub my finger over his gums. But lately its been feeling like he's not sucking properly/effectively while nursing. Is this because he's in pain and will go away or will his latch be permanently damaged? We do side-lying nursing a lot because he comes to work with me and the only way I can get him to focus and not look all around is to nurse him lying down in dark nursery- that wouldn't mess up his latch would it? We co-sleep and I can't imagine not side-lying nursing... we probably nurse that way 90% of the time.
