Dr. Ami Mavani was highly recommended to me by my OB. I interviewed her, and liked her a lot, except she is very pro-vaccine. So, we don't use her. She is in the Auburn Hills area. We go to Neda Saker in Troy, she is non vax supportive, and a decent ped.

Dr. Schindler is okay with no vax. He was a little conservative with meds, figuring I should suffer so my 18 month old wouldn't be hurt by a round of percoset. Yep, percosets are handed out like candy to moms nursing newborns, but his book said it wasn't safe.

I really like the guy. He impressed the hubby too. No doc is perfect, and the standard book isn't like Dr. Hale's.

He's in Livonia

I have taken my children to dr. mavani, in rochester hills, over the last 3 years, i really like her, the time she took, her pro-breastfeeding, nutrition orientated stances and her guidance and knowledge with alternative treatments. . . . HOWEVER, she won't see us anymore since we don't vax!!!
:
She recommended a family practitioner named colleen kennedy, but i have yet to check her out.
Does anyone use her?
Does anyone have an opinion/experiences with Sung Park-Davis or Susan McCreadie who i believe are in west bloomfield? Dr. Mavani said susan isn't practicing as a pediatrician anymore?

thank you.

I know someone that recently switched to Colleen Kennedy from Dr Mavani (same exact situation as you!) and she liked Dr Kennedy.
Dr McCreadie does not do primary pediatrics anymore, just a consulting for special problems.

I know someone who sees Dr Kennedy, and she has convinced me to switch to her too. I haven't actually gone to her yet though, so I can't give you first hand experience.

We use Dr. Mokayhesh (now Dr. Sayed), she's in practice with Sung Park-Davis and Susan McCreadie. I can't speak highly enough about her! My kids ADORE them and they think "Ms. Sheila" (one of the nurses) is the greatest person on earth (she is amazing). I've also seen Dr. Park-Davis when Dr.Mokayhesh was not available and I really liked her.

They're in West Bloomfield which is a hike from Redford. I'm in Oak Park and it is difficult to get there - especially with all the construction on 696 and EVERY major side street between here and there but they also have convenient hours.

I'll second Dr. Mokhayesh... We recently moved to Atlanta, but we really miss them. They really are great... Anyone similar here doesn't take insurance, but there might be a couple more to search out.

We wish they were down here. Dr. Sue doesn't practice as a ped anymore. She shares an office with Dr. Mokhayesh. Dr. Mokhayesh was better for my family due to better hours and the fact that they treated the family as a whole.

They once waited for me on a Friday afternoon when I called and my daughter was sick. They knew it would be an hour for me to get there because I worked in Milford and daycare was in Oak Park (near home).

We use Dr. Schindler in Livonia too - we really like him and he is very hands off in most things - he is ok with us not vaxing, encourages bfing, and he is a family practice doc so DH and I can see him too...
I had a question about bfing pain (thought I had thrush) when my baby was 3 weeks old and I emailed him and he emailed me back at 10pm on a Sunday night! Plus, he gives out his personal cell number when the office is closed so you can reach him at anytime!

Thanks!
Could you please name the one in Ann Arbor?

I live in Saline. DS is due for his 2-year checkup and I want to find someone who won't hassle me about vaccines. (I don't know what part of "We are delaying any more vaccines right now" these people don't understand.)

Thanks!
