Read a great article paraphrasing the research done over the last 30 or so years about kids of divorce. Basically, it said that there are 4 factors that directly relate to how the kids turn out:
Excuse my paraphrasing...
1. quantity and quality of time spent with non-custodial parent
2. psychological and mental health and parenting skills of custodial parent
3. level of conflict btw. parents, before and after divorce
4. change in economic situation
I read the article in a Santa Cruz, CA publication, Growing Up In Santa Cruz, I think the column is "Daddyman Speaks".
Good luck!
