DH doesn't like the firefly

I showed him the pics I took this afternoon and he was so mad I'd put his son in "pink". I smiled and told him it is raspberry and I LIKE it. So there. I deserve a pretty dipe. Just because my baby happens to be a boy doesn't mean I can not enjoy pink...grrr husbands

I have a pretty purple dyed bumpy that DH hates. Oh well, DS wears it while he's at work!!!
That was your SON earlier?

Oh, oops. I thought it was a girl!!! He's such a cutiepie! He'd make a great girl!!

I love the color, and you know what... colors don't make penises grow or shrivel. Colors don't change genders. Colors are just colors. So he can just take it and *shove it*.
My DS likes to choose a color shirt to wear and today he was pointing at his baby sister's things insisting on "pink!" If they fit maybe I would've
Oh Dh would have LOVED that!

: I think THAT is the reason he doesn't want him in PINK :LOL He's kind of pretty and unless he's in BLUE I get "oh what a beautiful little baby, how old is SHE?"
: Oh well! At least no one is saying "wow, you've got an ugly kid" :LOL

In my tiedyeing experiments I ended up with a few pink PFs, pink, and purple fitteds. I put them on him around the house. I love putting colors on his bum: and there are so many colors of the rainbow to enjoy.

I don't put much pink on him out in public b/c I don't want to confuse nice people who tell me how cute s/he is... I'd rather keep his public colors more boyish or neutral.
: But at home all bets are off.

Real Men Wear Pink...he he. I have never been one to sign on to the whole gender/color thing, and was very quick to give people an earful when they called my dd a boy...And the lady who replied to that with "then where are her earrings?" well, lets just say she won't make dumb comments like that to people...I hope.
Do you know how many people called my sweet very girlie dressed in pink girl a HE when she was a baby??? Just because she didn't have a ton of hair!

I have never understood men who can't handle a little pink. DH doesn't mind if I put DS in stuff with pink on it. There are even a couple things that have flowers in there too. WHO CARES!!! He's still a boy. Heck people don't even LOOK half the time, DS was called a "she" a few times while wearing navy blue and red stripes and khaki shorts.

And I agree...

It goes both ways, Eliza is lacking tons of hair so if she is in something even sorta neutral colored I get how old is 'he'

Your dh would probably flip if he came to my house and saw my ds playing with his sister's teas set
. My dh used to say something about it but I told him if ds has to share his hotwheels with the girls he can play dolls and tea!

Oh Shandelle, we should get your DS and my DD together! DH was at the supermarket with her last week & she was in a pink top with pink flowered shorts, drinking a pink bottle and wearing white sandals with big pink flowers on them & someone STILL asked him if she was a boy!

thankfully, DH's best friend is uber-macho & i swear if we ever have a boy, DH will be very happy to dress the baby in all kinds of colors just to get a rise out of his friend! (their baby boy wasn't even allowed to wear any clothes with any "characters" including a very cute frog on a raincoat!). Sheesh, men!

So, now you know your "just me & mommy" diaper!

Look at it this way, you get to use the Firefly and you don't have to save it for DH to use! It's win/win!

I bought the Rainbow Bursts dipe from Hidden Pearl, and of course when DH saw the pic he said that there's no way his son is going to wear that!

Oh, yeah?
We'll see about that, I think it's a cute dipe. I told DH that next time he comes back from sea (after my little one is born), I'll make sure to have DS in that dipe (along with the little cartoon submarine onsie) when I pick him up at the pier.

Exactly!
I *hate* gender divisions. it is *JUST* a color. Get over it. People call my youngest a boy all the time and she (imo) is very pretty. Soft curls and big blue eyes. I bet your DH just hasn't had time to think about it. Ask him "what are you worried will happen if he wears pink?" When you think about it, it really makes no difference.
