and I don't think any amount of fluff would cheer me up
... I have never been away from him for this long, or this far... I tried to console myself by telling me, that I can shop for fluff to cheer me up, but its not the same.
I saw the diaper bags at babystyle.com on sale, and did not feel a bit uplifted... He leaves tomorrow at 7 in the morn, and he takes a big piece of my heart with him

Oh, hun I'm so sorry. How long will he be away??? I feel exactly the same way as you. I don't know what I'd do if I was left alone with my ds. Keep your days busy so that he'll be back to you in no time!!
My DH travels all the time and it is tough. He's gone for a week or two at a time.

What's really nice is if you can have fluff delivered while he's gone. It may not seem like it, but it does help a bit.

Hang in there!

Awwww Mama - I'm so sorry. I don't blame you one bit for being so sad.
I would hate to be away from my DH for more than a day.

I feel your pain!
My DH has been across the country for 3 1/2 months now and wont be home for another 2 1/2 months. It totally sucks! We just got to see him for the first time on Memorial day weekend and for only 4 days.

The first month was the roughest and nothing made me feel better but now my CD hunting and WAHM site stalking brings me a little joy -- nothing compared to having DH home but a bit all the same.

Yup- I now how you feel. DH is in the military and leaves a lot. He was gone for a month last summer and 2 weeks a couple months ago. Fortunately it's never been for too long.

Dh and I have never known it to be any different. He is an airline pilot so we are quite accustomed to his leaving for 6 days at a time. But I have 7 kids so it is business as usual, except for meals. We don't have big yummy meals when he is away. More kid friendly meals. So have fun with the kids. And you can even put them to bed early and have a nice, quiet evening to yourself. Trust me, you can grow to enjoy an occasional night alone.
I know its hard
My DH has to travel every few months at first it was VERY tough! I'd cry and miss him SO! Now I still miss him but do enjoy the quite night time (without the TV on LOL).....And the bonus is you're so excited to see him when he gets home that you can jump right into his arms :LOL I've been known to do this~

Oh my, I know what you mean. DH is always gone (NAVY) and I seem to amass a load of diapers each time he is away.
I just mentioned to my main board that DH's last deployment was the reason I got so into AIOs and WIOs. 6 months can get you a nice big AIO/WIO stash LOL
Hang in there

Oh yeah, right there with ya, mama!!! DH travels often and it usually seems to coincide with the kids getting sick... for instance... this week, DS 1 is sick with some sort of nasty thing... 105 fever for three days (unless I give him advil...), ds 2 has TWO front teeth coming in and is miserable (plus, I think he's GETTING what ds1 has) and DH is blissfully in Boston... how nice... NOT!!!

You DO get used to it.. You ARE capable, hon!!! You CAN do this!!! He will be home soon... when he is, han d him the kiddoes and go take a bath, or see amovie or... ??? whatever floats your boat
At least he's not military going to Iraq and being put in mortal danger, right?? (OH, I hope that is true!!!!!!)

Hang in there... we've all been there, we KNOW how hard it is and we KNOW you will come through it!

Lo

Awww...thank you mamas...We left the older kids with a sitter earlier, and went to buy him some toiletries and stuff he needs for the trip. It was bittersweet... He's going to be gone from Wed. until Sun., but it seems like an eternity for me already. And, I can't imagine what it must be like for military wives or for mamas who's dh's work out of town all the time...I am so new at this..
He's going to be going traveling everywhere now, and I feel so numb just thinking about it... Anyway, I would love to amass a small stash in the time he is gone, but my heart just isn't in it...I will not let this break my fluffy heart

Well, you can cheer yourself by remembering you have a dh to come home to you-some of us don't have that in our lives. Not meaning to sound all pitiful or anything, but it is just me and my boys-and it does get a little lonely around here sometimes.

I love it when my DH travels. :LOL Granted, he's never gone for more than a few days, a week at the very most. I think it's kinda nice to have to the house to myself (well, with Reese). I get to watch what I want to watch on t.v. I get to eat whatever the heck I want for dinner (even frozen pizza and ice cream! :LOL) I don't have to worry about finding his keys, or wallet, or belt at 7am. Etc.

Now, of course I miss him. But it is kinda fun to have some freedom.

BTW...I hope I didn't make it sound like DH is an evil dictator or anything. :LOL It's not like that at all.

Please excuse me if I came across as whiney or clingy. But, I am not going to apologize for missing my dh. We have been through TONS of stuff in our lives, for me to be able to feel this way. I know what its like to NOT have my dad around because my mom was constantly leaving him or vice versa. I KNOW how lonely it gets when its just you and the kids. I know this. But, like I said, those are personal reasons, and I don't feel the need to share. Growing up the way I did makes me feel like a mother hen...I want all my chicks in one basket:LOL. Hope you feel better mama
I have lots of memories, of it just being us girls-(we were only girls until my baby brother came along).

I understand:LOL!! I Love Frozen pizza and ice cream!! DH likes fresh pizza, but I love the fronzen stuff
On a good note, I got fairied!! Seeing and opening up that little piece of fluff really made my day. After the airport, my kids, my mil, and I all went to the mall in the city, and had lunch. Then we stayed at my il's ranch overnight. It really helped take my mind off of stuff. My kids had a blast and I got to go shopping:LOL. Thank you for supporting me mamas through this.
