Okay, I am currently on the mini-pill, but oh so bad about remembering to take it at the same time everyday, and I am also in grad school right now with a 4 month old, so we are very nervous about getting pregnant again. So, I think unconsiously we have not been have sex as much, that is, during the day (while we are awake). So, now the problem is that DH is jumping me in the middle of the night several times a week. This presents an even worse problem, since I can't even use an OTC contraceptive. I'm just wondering if anyone else's DH does this. It's getting kind of old (but somewhat enjoyable ) being woken up like this.

DH just did this the other night, actually. He used to do it more often, but stopped when I got pregnant and it wasn't so enjoyable for me.

Of course, we have recently gotten much more "active", and he's jumping me anytime I happen to look at him right. : I'm with you - it's getting a little old here, too.

Hey - you're in Kansas! I'm from Kansas - western KS, then went to KU. You wouldn't happen to be in grad school there, would you? Ahhhh, I miss Lawrence and the whole college town environment (right now, any way - I love fall and college football games).

As a matter of fact, I am. I am actually going to the Edwards campus, since it is much cheaper for me, being we just moved here in February. (There are out-of-state tuition rates on the Lawrence campus, but a flat rate on the Edwards campus.) I live in Lawrence though. It is a really nice town, especially for AP parents. There is a lot of support for breastfeeding, cloth diapering, slinging, and all that other great stuff! I am getting my masters in social work. Do you still live in this area?

No, I soooo wish I did, especially since we've had Will. We're in NC now, but hopefully we'll be moving soon. Lawrence is probably the most alternative city in KS, and I'm kicking myself for not taking advantage of it while I was there. Of course, I wasn't a mama then, so it would have been kind of tough to bf, cd, or sling, YKWIM?

If we ever win the Powerball (or someone gives us a decent amount of money out of the blue - suuure, that'll happen) we're moving back to Lawrence.

I never knew about the flat fee for the Edwards campus. Then again, I was in-state and on scholarship, so it wouldn't really have mattered much for me. Do you know where Copy Co is, on 23rd? I used to work there. When my mom took DS and me back to KS to visit this summer, we had to stop in Lawrence so I could show DS off at Copy Co, and so I could get a burrito from Burrito King on 9th. Mmmmm-hmmmmm. Yum.

Sorry, everyone, for writing a book about Lawrence. Sometimes I just get carried away...

yep, and sometimes i put him off...
i tell him its not fair, cause usually he wants a 'quickie', gets off, and passes out. then i am lying there wide awake wanting more, when i should've been getting much needed sleep.
i don't mind when he gets in late from work, but if he's just been hangin out with friends and puts me off and i give up waiting & fall asleep, FORGET it...
maybe in addition to the pill you could chart your cycle? he knows not to touch me when i'm ovulating(we DON'T want more kids right now). it's so empowering to know your cycle. we go crazy the last week before my period, but the rest of the month we're more careful about when & where.
good luck! here's to planned fertility!!!

I'm laughing out loud here! Somehow I don't think that's going to amended to the boy scout motto!

To the OP, I read a neat article in glamour, I think. It was about how her boyfriend does the pill for her. He is responsible for getting it and bringing a glass of water and she is responsible for taking it. Then the responsibility for a missed pill would be theirs, not hers. And he knows where he stands all the time. Don't know if that will help you.

Personally I dislike being woken up, but I do it to him all the time.

Ladies,
I think I might be pregnant from one of those middle of the night jumpings. I missed two days worth of pills during labor day weekend, and the day after, DH jumped me in the middle of the night. Now, I totally feel pregnant. Didn't get a (+) test yet, but I just know I am. I had early symptoms for an entire week before I got a (+) with #1. Thirteen months apart, and #1 is exclusively bf'd. OH well! LOL!

Guess what? I'm not pregnant! In this case, this is a very good thing, though, I know I would be excited if I was, cause I just love babies. Anyway, I took 3 pregnancy tests since 8 days ago, and all 3 were negative. I just wanted to make sure, because I totally felt pregnant. I started back to school 3 weeks ago, and I think maybe, just the stress of it all, and the faster paced lifestyle, coupled with the fact that I have an exclusively b'fed baby, accounted for the incredible hunger, upset stomach, irritability, and extreme exhaustion. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know the good news. And someday, when I am able to have a child again, I will again, come shouting the good news to you all. (I just can't wait to have another one. I love being a mom, but I don't think I could handle having another one right now.)
