Hi everyone. My name is Tina and I have a beautiful 5 month old dd. We have been cloth diapering her since she was born in Jan. I have 2 other dd's (they wore sposies, I was not as "enlightened" then.
) One is 5 and the other 10. I just wanted to share what I thought was an amusing conversation with Dh this morning.

I asked DH to get the diapers out of the dryer for me. When he brought them in he asked me if I was going to sell them.
Sell my GrowingGreens?? Why would I do that?

Dh. Aren't they too small?
me. No, the prefolds are too small.
Dh. Aren't these prefolded?
me. No (holding up a pf) these are pf.
Dh. But those are flat, these are prefolded.
me. No those are fitteds, these are prefolds. But I am keeping the prefolds because I can use them to stuff the wonderoo's I just bought.

dh.
turns around and leaves the room.

I just wanted to share with others whom I thought might find the conversation as amusing as I did.
Have a nice day,

Maybe I posted this at the wrong time of day and it was burried. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone since I was new to this board. I have to credit most of what I know about cloth diapers to the babycenter board, but this board seems so lively, with some many different people and so many different opinions I was hoping to be able to join this board as well.

Thanks

I'm kinda new myself! This board moves fast, it's hard to keep up sometimes. My dh is into cd'ing but he gets a little lost when it comes to matching liners etc. Oh and he isn't sure if he likes prefolds but he was practising folding them today so there is hope

Hi Tina! Sorry your post got buried. That's happened to me too.
LOL about the conversation with your DH. Diapers confuse the heck out of my DH too. He doesn't even try to understand them anymore. I got him his own stash of front aplix AIOs to use, and he's happy with that. Anyways
I hope you stick around!!

That is too funny. I have had to give a few lectures here and there. My SO stays at home with our son, and I cannot tell you how funny it is to come home from school and see the concoctions he comes up with. Usually I "prepare" the diapers (snap-in the snap-ins, stuff the pockets, put fitteds with covers around them, but when I do not have time/life is crazy...well, the sky is the limit. I love the laughs though. I guess I should be thankful he does it at all though

Nice to meet you

I did'nt "prepare" my fuzzi bunz once. I can home a soaked baby. When I checked the pocket, there was a lonely little flannel wipe "stuffed" in it....
at least he tried

My dh was like that in the beginning too...and even worse when I started getting all kinds of new diapers...LOL.

That is hilarious!!
: No one ever understands my stash either, but I'm the only one that ever changes him (it's sposies for him if my dad/brother does it)

Hi!

I don't know how I missed your thread...I am always here!
:
I think I may have had that exact conversation with my dh when we first started cloth diapering! :LOL He just couldn't understand why prefolds were not...well...prefolded, and the fitteds were. Now he knows mostly whats what. He loves "toot sweets" fitteds, although he calls them, "poop sweets" because ds *always* poops in his toot sweets! :LOL He is really into cloth diapering, but it took awhile. I think he is still in shock that he can hold up any diaper and I know the brand name and what it is made of. Heehee! He's getting good too though.
The other day I came downstairs, and he held up ds and said, "look mommy, I'm wearing my toot sweet with my Lana cover!" He's a pretty good guy.

I am so happy to see you here. This board is a ton of fun and full of great mamas who know lots about cd'ing.

Ah, but it IS prefolded; the middle is thicker. Back in the old days there were only flats that had to be folded so they were thicker in the middle

I feel so lucky that DH is so supportive of my CD addiction. He almost always reaches for a pf and cover which he snappis. I've started pinning my pfs but he won't do that
He also only uses an AIO or pocket if it's ready to go; he usually gets DS ready for bed and will ask me to put together his night dipe. I think I've convinced him to leave the laundering to me because he really is clueless.
We found ourselves doing some belt tightening recently and he actually thanked me for being willing to do the extra laundry, couldn't imagine having to spend all that $ on sposies every week. (DD was sposied)

He's a good one

I'm new here as well, and it's hard keeping up! My DH likes using CD's, but he usually uses "prepared" pockets, as he doesn't get which ones need a cover. Sometimes I'll come home to a wet baby because he used a fitted with no cover ("I didn't think it needed one...."). He tries

Well I bought some fitteds hoping the would be more dad friendly. Unfortunatly he can't figure these out either. To many snaps he says.
I do have some Wonderoo's on the way, but from the picture it looks like they have just as many snaps. My mom is suppose to be making me some cuddelbuns with aplix so maybe he will be able to figure these out. (If mom ever figures out the pattern. I can't sew.) I think he is just making up excuses. He rarely changed my 5 year old when she was a baby and she wore sposies.
go figure.
