I have always had low libido, and a wife of DH's friend is taking DHEA. He said it has worked wonders for her sex life and outlook on life, so dh wants me to start it.

I'm leery of it - does anyone have any info about it?

Thanks.

I have adrenal fatigue & take pregnenolone, which is the first hormone our bodies create from cholesterol. Pregnenolone is then converted by the body into DHEA, cortisol & the sex hormones; testosterone, estrogen & progesterone.

DHEA is an androgen, meaning it can sometimes cause masculinizing side effects. My doctor said that he gives women pregnenolone & men DHEA because he rarely sees masculine side effects from pregnenolone in women, but often sees them with DHEA.
