I've been cd'ing my dd since she was born. I'm new to the whole beautiful diaper world and would love to get into it. So far I have 5 ME diapers and 1 AF cover. That's just my nice diapers. I've been using home made diapers as well (no expertly made that's for sure). But my daughter is a heavy wetter, and a big baby.So I'm looking for expert advice on covers that arn't too bulky+ made of wool. I'd even make my own if I knew all the rules for DC making.

I guess I sould just keep coming back to this forum and I'll learn everything I need to know anyways, even if you don't write me back.
thanks

Just so you know, ME diapers are not very absorbent. If you have a heavy wetter, you'd be better off with another diaper. If you like One Size, you can try Luke's Drawers, Cuddlebuns (hemp only), Ecobaby Grow With Me look just like Motherease, but are much more absorbent.

As for wool covers, Stacinator is a good trim cover that you can use at night with a hemp or cotton pre-fold.

I recently got a Patchwork Pixie Woodland Wrap that is wonderful. I am also in LOVE with Sugar Peas wool. Both are very trim.

I find that full time wool use for my heavy wetter requires hemp and/or heavy duty wool. thin wool flannel, like my bumpy wool cover really doesn't cut it for outings unless we use a super absorbant diaper.

in order of reliability my wool covers are samuel's wooly dream, little turtle knit, bumpy wool.

I agree- ME are far from the most absorbant! I highly recommed hemp/cotton diapers. I love Sugar Peas wool. Stacinator is nice (and air dries really quickly) but I don't like the fit on my dd.

The other kinds of wool we have/like have waiting lists. :

Wool covers by Wahms that are very good:
Fuzbaby, Fuzeasy, Freshies, Elbee, Patchwork Pixie, 7th Heaven, Tuesday Bear, Righteous Baby.

Commercial Wool Covers:
Aristocrat

As for bulk, your going to get bulk with a heavy wetter, personally from experience I have not found away around the bulk. I have one son that is like Niagra Falls!

Joey Bunz are really nice to add inside a diaper for extra absorbency, and doublers too. Motherease diapers are not the best for absorbency and personally they are not the best diaper at all. I think if you are looking for absorbent diapers you need to look into organic and hemp fabric for your diapers and wahm made. Wahms tend to make things the way you ask them too, thick, thin, fast dry, long dry. Just the way you ask. There are a bazillion wahms who make diapers now, one of the best places to find them is here. http://borntolove.com/resources/

Good luck

Thank-you too everyone who wrote me back, I'll be trying some of those suggestions (or looking into it anyways). I was also wondering if anyone knows of some wahm's that live in B.C. (canada) that I could help support.

Have a beautiful day!

Bareware Is in BC. Baby Marketplace is also Canadian, but in Alberta, I believe. I've ordered from both place (also Canadian), and have had an excellent experience from both places. I'm not sure they sell what you'd be looking for though, I find that there are some things I HAVE to shop across the border for. Milkface is Canadian, but in Ottawa, but they are the only ones I know of that carry JB's. I have not shopped from them yet. HTHs.

Just wanted to say for Milkface! I did some trading with Britt awhile back and also bought a Bliss Baby dress from her website last week. It arrived quickly (I'm in the US) and she has great customer service.
