I have a diaper champ sold at babiesrus and its great. It use a regular trashbags and keeps all the smells in. I think it was 25.00 and well worth it.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

I second the trash can. We just started cd'ing 2 weeks ago and we bought a Mistral garbage can for $6! Its pearly baby blue so it matches our bathroom nicely. (okay, so you didnt ask that....<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/nut.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="nut"> ) But anyway, like the lovely ladies here told me when I started, anything with a lid that locks will do!<br>
Good luck!

I just have a plain white plastic trash can from Target - and I don't even use the lid! I used to use the lid, but found it doesn't smell with no lid, but reeked when I used a lid.<br>
I line my trashcan with a washable PUL liner that gets thrown in the washer with the dipes.

I have a Rubbermaid trash can I bought a Evilmart. Lemme see if I can find a link.<br><br><a href="http://www.rubbermaid.com/hpd/consumer/product/detail.jhtml?prod=HPFG269800%20WHT&attributeId=HPATT1009&nextType=noValue&currentType=HPCAT02&locationId=LOC00001&thirdMenuIndex=9" target="_blank">Dipe Pail</a><br><br>
I like it because it a good size for us and I can use a liner with it and it when its full, it is exactly a load of diaper laundry. Mine is white.

I use the smaller of the two Sterilite waste bins with the pop up lid. It gets full every other day and it is exactly the capacity of my Large capacity washing machine.

I still have 3 more months to go, but I too was lookinga t dipe pails. I recently got the TRU flyer and was looking at the diaper champ (I think) it said appropriate for cloth dipes. But I didn't like the fact it said takes plastic bags, can you get a PUL (or something similar) bag into it? I have nevr seein it in peson, just a little picture in a sale flyer. Thanks for your help.......not that I want to spend this much money, but with #3 girl, there isn't much more I need.

I would read some reviews on Babies R Us and Epinions before buying the Diaper Champ. I've heard many users disappointed in it. The chute is somewhat small, so it's easy to get smaller diapers in, but not bigger ones, so I hear.... I read other issues with it as well, but can't remember them now.

How do you keep your toddlers from emptying the pail? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/grossedout.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="gross"> Is there a pail that has a lock on it that is easy enough to use?<br><br>
I too am due in a couple of months and want to get a pail- and want to make sure that there is no potential for dirties being drug thoughout the house when I'm not looking....<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/Bolt.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="bolt">

<b>mamablue</b> that is exactly what my best friend uses - the link you gave. She said that her XL Bummis Nylon Tote fits it perfectly. So she has two and rotates them between washes.<br><br>
I have a smaller flip-top from Walmart that my Large Bummis Tote fits into. I prefer its size, because it encourages me to do laundry more often! HA! :LOL

Our resale shops got diaper pails in all the time - I think people buy them for "cute gift wrap" for baby showers<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="rolleyes">:<br>
So, anyway, I've gotten 3 for $1 apiece - I keep one by the bed (our changing station) and one in each bathroom (because we use cloth everything, so a recepticle for bathroom wipes is necessary). Even the cheapest diaper pails have a lid-locking handle.

I got the Diaper Champ for a shower gift on Saturday and the wet bag I bought from Walmart fits in it perfectly. You can't use the filppy/hole thing on top of the pail but the lid does lit easily for cloth diapes you can get a good pic of it at babies r us com
