Is anyone else having terribly sensitive skin like I am? My butt, bikini area and thighs are all rashy and very sensitive, and the seams of my maternity pants are making it worse. I tried Weleda baby creme but it didn't help at all. Does anyone have ideas?

I had this a few weeks ago..I soaked in a bath with Aveeno, then "aired" it out overnight.. I felt better the next day.

I've been struggling with my skin (face and body) since the beginning of this pregnancy. I finally got in with a dermatologist next Tues. I believe what I have is fungus! Apparently since our immune systems are a bit out of wack, fungus can take over the skin (Yuck)Mine seems to keep spreading/manifesting itself in different areas. I find NOT using soap helpful, as well as just moisturizing with plain olive or coconut oil. If your rash doesn't clear up in a few days, and looks indeed like a fungal diaper rash would look like on a babe- try a little clotrimazole 1% (lotrimin) and see if that helps. It is safe for use in pg.

It could be a yeast rash.

Baking soda baths help with itching (from yeast or other things) as do oatmeal baths.

If you suspect yeast, taking probiotics and limiting sugars, sweets, pastries, fruits, etc. could make a big difference.

I agree about airing out; skirts with no underwear around the house, no undies to bed, etc.

Good luck.

I was dealing with this problem on the inside of my thighs for weeks!! It HURT! I finally found that Butt Paste worked the best in clearing it up. I used a nice piece of fleece that went over the edge of my panties when I had to wear them to protect my pants and then went without at home. It's finally clearing up to the point where I can wear panties and pants without needing something soft between them and me. So good luck and I feel your pain!!!

Thanks for the ideas! Sounds like DH will like the cure, LOL. I feel better just knowing I am not the only one. I am pretty sure it's just rash from being rubbed rather than a yeast type thing but I will keep an eye on it if it doesn't get better with some airing out.

Urgh I've been having the same problem with my inner thigh area where the panties lie..but for some reason airing it out isn't helping, especially at night.

Seems like(sorry if it's tmi) it just gets even damper all over when I don't have panties on & the rash is worse in the a.m.

I've had problems occasionally before I was pg & airing worked fine..I'm not sure what to do now. Hope airing works for you op!!

I don't know anything about it but have also heard of something called PUPP which is a red itchy rash around that whole area during pregnancy. I think some people even get it right after giving birth? Sounds mighty unpleasant! Maybe you should check with your HCP? There is something else which is a liver problem (choleo-something) that also causes terribly itchy rashes. Anyway, as I am sure you can tell I don't have any experience with these, but have heard about them.
