A friend of mine read it and she is pro-breastfeeding but she also commented on how it was weird. I have been thinking of how it actually might not be that great being in a mainstream mag where most of the women might only bf till 6 months or so.
I wish they would have interviewed someone nursing a 2 year old or a slight younger age to ease the mainstream into the idea of extended nursing.
Yes, I can see what you mean. I almost wonder if they chose someone who was nursing a 5 yr old for the shock factor in some ways. They must have known it would cause a stir. We also had many pro-BF moms on the other forum say it was just too weird when a child is past the age of 2-3 yrs old. Personally, I think it was ok for the woman to be nursing her 5 yr old. Would I do it? I'm not sure, b/c I have never been in that situation before (my toddler weaned during my 2nd trimester, b/c my supply dropped), but I wouldn't completely rule it out either.

heh... My daughter just keeps getting older and older. Strangley enough I don't notice her age when she's nursing - she's still just my babe who needs her mama
When she tells me

I DO notice her age. Sigh.
