As some of you may have seen me say about a million times recently, I am buying an entire newborn/small stash for my best friend. She is due in a few weeks, and I'm just about to send the box out (waiting on one more thing). So I thought I'd run this by you mamas and make sure I covered everything. (When Gemma was a newborn, we used prefolds, so this is the first time I've done a whole newborn stash.

) I have:

*24 newborn fitteds (Fussybutt, Mutts, FLAMs, Cuddlebuns, Kissaluvs 0s, etc.)
*18 small fitteds (Sugarpeas, Tykies, Luxe, Firefly, etc.)
*1 dozen preemie prefolds (plus one awesome tye dyed/hand painted one from Peace, Love, Prefolds

)
*1 dozen infant prefolds (dyed, tye dyed, plus another Peace, Love, Prefolds hand painted one)
*6 x-s Fuzzibunz
*6 small Fuzzibunz (including two embroidered ones from Fussybutt

)
*6 small VB AIOs
*6 newborn Bummis SWW
*6 small Bummis SWW
*2 newborn wool covers (She's allergic to wool, so I only got her two to try.)
*2 small fleece covers
*3 dozen wipes
*1 wet bag
*4 snappis and 3 sets of pins

I think I might get her a few more covers, maybe some WAHM covers, but I think that's about all. I wanted to kind of mix it up a bit, since she's never used cloth and isn't sure what she'll like, so I got some of everything (except flats, at her request). Think I need anything else? Did I forget anything? Mamas of newborns, what am I missing that you haven't been able to live without?

I have washed/prepped all the diapers/wipes, written very detailed instructions for washing and given her a list of sites to view for instructions/pictures for folding prefolds. I even took pics of all the diapers and labeled each one with the brand name, size and a website link, so that she can find the ones she really likes. Anything else I should do?

Me too. I just posted about how on Sunday at my baby shower a friend of mine made me a disposable diaper cake even though she KNOWS I'm planning on CD'ing.

Well, it's not as impressive as it sounds.

A lot of it I bought off the TP (new or in EC, but still not *new*). And I have added the stipulation that if she decides that cloth really is just not for her, she will send the diapers back to me, so that I can sell them and get her something else.

She and her DH are in a bit of a tight financial situation right now, and while the baby was very much wanted, he was very much unplanned. So I thought I'd just give them a gift that keeps on giving, you know? That way, if it works for them, not only do they not have to buy sposies, but she can sell this stash off to buy mediums and larges. And I went with hyena or good quality diapers so that she could get good resale for them.

Thanks for the many compliments. I try to be a good friend -- it's really important to me!

I think you should get her a couple of Joeybunz or something similar to try with the FB. I've used prefolds before, and found them to be too bulky for my taste. I was MUCH happier with the hemp inserts. I know there's sellers on ebay who make hemp inserts for much cheaper than Joeybunz (and there's always used too).

Just my opinion.

No....the prefolds will be fine. That is what I use. They work great!

That's true.....some find pfs too bulky as inserts.

I would get some doublers. Once my milk came in I was astonished at how much J was wetting. I would change with every pee but those itty bitty diapers were just sopping wet.

I use doublers with my prefolds even sometimes. They also work great in fitteds and pockets.
