I got my new sugarpeas merino wool jersey cover in the mail last week and dd promptly had a blowout in it. I *gulp* (in retrospect I realize I probably shouldn't have done this) through it in the wash, but I didn't dry it. It looks fuzzy now and has a poop stain. Did I ruin the cover? Is it possible to get the stain out? I've never had a problem with stains before. But I've never used wool, either. We mostly use Bummis & ME Airflows.

Thanks in advance for any info and/or tips.

Do you mean you put it in the washing machine?

Sugarpeas and most other wool should be handwashed in cool to lukewarm water, and never put in a washing machine.
I don't know how to reverse the effects of that but some of the other ladies should be able to help you!

You may have shrunk it but not ruined it! Does it look smaller? If not, just wash in eucalen and re-lanolize. Gently spot rub the stain area w/ eucalan or baby shampoo. Let it soak a bit, squeeze teh soap all through it, then rinse and squeeze out the water, but do not ring, then squeeze damp cover between two towels, and lie flat or hang to dry. The poo may not come out. If it has shrunk, get it wet and try to stretch it out a bit. Some ladies say adding conditioner to water and stretching it has worked. Then wash as above. If the stain does not come out...dye it! Use kool-aid or food color. I just dyed mine-same material-I dip dyed in yellow, blue, green, and red. IT is gorgeous-will link later! I did this because I was sure I would eventually have a poop that ruined that light cream!
