I'm wondering if your babies all came early or late or whatever? DS was 4 weeks early exactly. My Dr is saying I will probably go that early with this baby. Everyone is saying "Oh you're going to go early!" but why? Thanks!

Both my DD's were born at 38 wks naturally. DD1 was 38w1d and DD2 was 38w6d. And to add to the mystery, both my sister and I came at 38 weeks as well.

DS1 was born on due date. DD1 was born 14 days early. DS2 was induced due to distress 5 days early. DD2 was born 10 days early. DS3 was born 15 days early. With DD1 and DS3 my water broke first.

I gestated all my kids for about the same length of time. I think it's that way for some women. But I don't count on anything with pregnancy and childbirth. There are so many variables and babies are all different. I am counting on gestating this one for the same length of time as his siblings though

So far, yes.

I had DD at 42 weeks but never actually went into labor with her. This one is already 40+2, with no sign of labor either.

Hmmmm...

I dont want to go to 42 weeks. Now I don't really wanna go 4 weeks early (DS was fine but had really bad jaundice that we had to put him in the hospital for and he had to get an iv in his head and it was heartbreaking, he also had a really bad suck reflex). I think somewhere around 37-38 weeks would be good

Lucky you 38-weekers! I'm at 38 weeks now ... and I am so ready for him to come out. My first baby went 12 days over his due date, and I am afraid this second one will be late.

Well, DS was a 35-weeker (but 6 lbs--I think he was ripe) but he had some jaundice and bfing issues so I'm hoping this one goes a little longer. However I was also born a month early. But, a good friend of mine's first was 35 weeks and second was 39.

You just never know I guess. My first was 37w1d, my water broke and with this one he is already 37w5d and no sign that he will be here soon. I was hoping for another early one but he will come when he is ready. He dropped 3 weeks ago and I am 90% effaced and 2cm dialated as of last friday and lost my mucus plug on sunday. I have been having lots of BX that are very uncomfortable at times so maybe next week if I'm lucky.

Ds was born a week before his "due date." I was born 2 weeks before mine.

All of mine have been early so far, but my first two were 3 weeks early and my third was only 5 days early.

I think the thought process is that with preterm births (and 36 weeks is just pre-term) you have a higher liklihood to deliver the remainder of your babies early or pre-term. That said, ds came at 35+5 and dd just came at 39+5 so, yes, she was earlier than 40 but I never expeted to make it past 38!

I have had preterm labor with all three of mine:
DD1- 37 weeks
DS - 35 weeks 5 days
DD2 - 34 weeks 4 days

I am pg with #4 and my OB expects this one to be a little earlier than the other 3. I tend to contract, dialate and thin out very early. I was on bedrest with the last 2 and this time will probably be the sam.
