Where in the world did she get that from? I have always called it nursing. My daughter is almost 19 months and I always say do you want to nurse or do you want nursies. The last week or so she has decided it is called diddy. Now that I know what she means she is using it all the time. Today we were grocery shopping and she was on my back in the Mei Tai and she started crying and yelling DIDDY over and over again. People probably thought she was calling Daddy I flipped her to the front and nursed her (she is nursed on demand) so I guess they figured it out after that! LOL Anyways I have no idea why she is calling it diddy. What self-chosen words do your children use and do you have any idea where they got them from?

That's really cute! I bet "diddy" is her way of trying to say "nursies".

It took me a while to realize that when my DS screams, "Duddle! Duddle!" that he is saying, "Cuddle! Cuddle!". I always say to him, "Do you want to cuddle?" to ask if he wants to nurse. We call my breasts, "Yum Yums" and he has just started to say that, but it comes out, "Mum Mums".

Aren't nursing toddlers the CUTEST?!

"Diddy" sounds kind of like how my DS says "this one." He says, "Di dah!" Do you by any chance ask her if she wants this one or that one? I apparently asked DS a lot of he wanted "the other side" because that's what he calls it: ah sid. And when I ask which one he wants, he says, "di dah!" and points to BOTH of them.

That's just cute!!! You got to love kids! My DS is now 14 months old, and he has taken to pinting to himself and saying "dah dee". Not sure what he's saying, but he definitely means himself! If he sees his reflection in the mirror, and you say "who's that?" he points to himself and says "dah dee". His name is Andrew, I just can't make a connection from that to "dah dee". To me, it sounds like he's calling himself "daddy"!!!

Maybe he's saying, "there he is!" My DS has been saying that for a while, in vary degrees of clarity.

That's so cute It's funny how they choose their own words. I always called it nursing, but Talia picked up "Nap" instead - presumably from my saying "Let's go upstairs and take a nap" and nursing her down. So, we have to use the word "sleepies" for napping. Better than a friend's daughter who called it "boobies". She'd come running across a room full of people screaming for her boobies.
