im trying to figure out this whole gut healing puzzle but the more i read the more i get confused. i am also reading the links from other gut healing posts. but may i get started by posting ds 's allergies here and some one can help me figure it out? as in what shud i do re the gut healing supplements? also if i feed my DS beet not only his urine is pink but also his poop. it completely looks like beet all over again in poop shape. is that normal? i have no allergies but am noticing more of my digestion as i read more and have an issue with EXCESS gases after enything and everything i eat. i dont know if this will work or if i shud be doing this? u can tell me to stop asking such questions if they r inapproprite.

a list of my 3 yr old DSs allergies: milk, nuts, peanuts, green peas, soy-most severe.
less severe: chocolate, wheat, rice
outgrew: oranges, cantaloupe (?).

First and most important question:
Are your dc's allergies IgE mediated? What kinds of symptoms do you see when he ingests them?

Is he nursing?
Have you tried digestive enzymes for yourself until you can figure out what's causing the gas?
Is he off of all his triggers, especially traces of gluten dairy and soy? Are you off them too if he's still nursing?
Are you doing any fermented foods?

At the age of 3 no that is not normal. He should be producing plenty of enzymes and stomach acid himself.

I think you might have other intolerances or allergies not yet discovered.

You might not have IgE allergies but you could have intolerances and/or gut flora imbalance and/or low stomach acid so you are not digesting your food properly.

How are you judging if wheat is less severe? Have you have a celiac panel done on him?

My experience with fermented foods is mixed. I did great with homemade raw milk kefir and fermented veggies, my DS needed probiotic supplements, he really couldn't handle either in large amounts required for healing.
