5 days.FIVE. He went 5 days without taking a shower.

He's a ski area manager. He works outside. He sweats. He gets dirty.

5 frigging days.

When I mention (on day two, three and four) that perhaps he might want to jump in the shower..he says yeah, tonight.. yeah... tomorrow.

When I told him he had been 5 days without a shower he wouldn't believe me. "I just took one.."

SMELL YOURSELF. LOOK IN THE MIRROR.

So.... can anyone beat 5 days or is my dh the dirtiest man alive?

Luckily my DH showers daily. BUT my ex-husband... would go 2 weeks... NOT JOKING... 2 freakin weeks! And I am pretty sure he still does, by the looks of him. He is nasty greasy and just plan GROSS! When we were married he would wonder why I wouldn't want to get intimate... And being that I am mean and evil.. I would tell him honestly... because you stink.

A week or two usually... its so gross. I shower every day. He has more of an office job so he's not usually really sweaty/dirty but still! The only reason he showers then is because he wants sex or because I cut his hair! Yuk, I hate it! But I do love him... just wish he had better hygenie habits. I've tried different things to get him to shower and such more regularly but they don't work so I leave it alone.

Phew... so I guess I can consider myself lucky that its not two weeks.....

He's also a white water guide/kayaker... He considers a day on the river just as good as a shower.....
(has anyone ever smelled a pair of river shoes?)

Wow!

1) I've never known a man who wipes after peeing.

2) What did these dirty men do to attract you ladies? Or did they become slobs after you married?

See, I have the opposite problem. My husband could plan to spend a day in a junkyard, in oil and whatnot and still want to take a shower first. Ummm, hello, aren't you going to get dirty? Then, you will want to come home and take a shower. So, since you REFUSE to use the same towel twice, that means that I have more laundry that I know what to do with.

Luckily, he's in AIT (Army Tech School) and I don't have to wash all of those towels...yet.

I have never known a man to do this either. My hubby will wipe up any 'mess' on the toilet (or surrounding areas).

No wipe here. He always has a droplet on his underware aferwards

I guess I need to feel lucky. DH baths daily (mostly). He is TERRIBLY about brushing his teeth in the morning though and bad about flossing anytime - he can go weeks (the flossing is getting better though - after he had three cavities).

You can't make them. Good hygine seems so simple - but it actaully must be something complex cause some people do resist it.

I have never known a man to wipe afterwards either... Hmmm. Course I have never known a man to wipe off the toilet if they make a mess either... : LOL!

My ex husband turned this way AFTER I married him... AFTER he got out of the service. I honestly think he had the military to civilian disorder. He didn't do anything... bath, work, clean, move of his arse! :LOL Hence the reason he is my EX. Now my new DH showers more than I do. I shower either every day or every other (water gives me very itchy hives). I am bad about brushing my teeth.. I do it daily.. but toothpastes makes me gag... I hate the taste..and have only found one kind I like... a little bit.

I don't know what it is that makes people not want to shower. Maybe they think it is a waste of time... like Making the bed... Why make it when your just gonna mess it up later that day? Why shower when your just gonna get dirty that day??

personal hygiene is an interesting thing, isn't it? I wonder what it is about a simple shower that could be so aversive....

Oh, no wiping here, either. Although that shouldn't come as a surprise...

My DH wipes

When we lived in Hawaii he would shower at least twice a day - once right before bed, and again in the morning before he left for work/we went out/whatever. He needed it, he reeked. He always wants to shower before he goes to work, but admits it is so hot there that he sweats (he rarely sweats outside of work), I don't get it...

Since I did the majority of potty training with ds, I taught him to wipe his drip. I overheard him and dh arguing one day, dh saying he didn't need to wipe and ds telling him "Mommy says I do!!" So someday hopefully his wife will thank me

My dh doesn't shower often enough for my liking. He'll go a few days, usually 4 or so. I think it's nasty and don't hesitate to tell him he stinks. He doesn't seem to care though. But sometimes I shower twice so who am I too judge? Someone probably thinks I am some freaky clean person. Which I am :

We were out running errands earlier today and he was telling me about his best friend. That he hasn't showered since last Thursday. He's been putting up drywall for a few days. He's also been working outside in the cold and rain hanging Christmas decorations. Both hard, sweaty, dirty jobs. And he's single, imagine that?

Dh wipes. And he showers every day unless we are camping, when he will skip a day. I, on the other hand, hate showering, and although I do it at least every other, I have to be dragged kicking and screaming (not quite literally lol) to the bathroom.

Here's a dumb question.... how do the "wiping" men take care of business in public restrooms? Do they always use the toilets and avoid the urinals?

I don't really understand the issue. : In all my 33 years, I've never concerned myself with whether the man in my life has wiped his ding-a-ling. Dh showers at least once a day and he never has yucky underwear, so I guess his "shake" is good enough.

My DH has some other issues, but he hates showers and regularly goes 4-5 days without one. He subjects us at home to the stink but then usually showers before going into his job as a paramedic (thank God).

It is awful during the summer though, because he does lawncare and then gets all dirty and doesn't shower when he gets home. I have had to buy dark-colored sheets and wash them lots.
