I don't want to talk with DH about it because I know he'll get upset.

DH has an aunt, we'll call her K. She has been battling cancer for the past two years. In the past 4 months she has been getting treatment as a test patient (they aren't even sure if the meds work...so she's pretty much a guinea pig). Anyways, she's going downhill, fast.

K's husbands sister is L. L's sister (so K's Aunt In Law) got really sick about a year ago and was dying. She was laying in bed with family around and she said "I see Grandma R and K!". Grandma R had been dead for years and years....but K was still alive and battling her cancer. She said they were both angels to take her away. Moments later she died.

This story is really bothering me. : I don't know why. K is my favorite relative of all of my husbands. She's such an amazing woman. SIL went to see her for the first time in a few months and said she looks horrible. She is so sickly looking and she has no memory after about 5 minutes. Can't remember how to go to the washroom on her own, how to brush her teeth, nothing.

I honestly don't know where I'm going with this story, but it just really bothers me. WHY did L's sister see K as an angel when K was still alive?

I'm sorry if this makes no sense but I just don't know. I can't even sleep because it's bugging me so bad. I don't know why I was told this story anyways.

Maybe L's sister actually saw a relative of K's who looked like K?

Take this from someone who doesn't believe in angels, L's sister may have just seen in her mind those whom she wanted to be around when she passed on and her religious beliefs told her subconscious they were angels.

I'm sorry you're upset about it

Well, it sounds to me like K is more present in that other realm than she is in this one right now.

I'm not certain that the line between being alive and dead is always very sharp... I have also heard that many people serve as guides to people who are in the process of dying while they are asleep and have no memory of doing this when they wake up.

I remember when my mother was dying of having a sense that she was "already halfway turned around," meaning that her attention was already turned from this world and she was functioning more in that other world, even though she was still alive (would respond to conversation with brief words but didn't initiate any conversation, etc).

perhaps ur definition and her definition of angel come from two places. perhaps K was her earth angel helping her deal with this and R was her other side angel. perhaps she intuitively knew K would be following her soon too. perhaps what K said or did helped her meet death from a different place other than fear.

When my grandma died, she told her sister (my great aunt) that my mom was there in the room, but my mom really was in the car still a couple of hours away. She saw what/who she needed to see. My mom is still alive and well.

My grandfather did this too. He saw my mother. My mother disowned him about 10 years before he died, and she was always close to him before that. I guess he needed her there, or who knows, maybe their spirits met. My mother says that she felt him talking to her.....makes you wonder...well, makes me wonder.
