I bought DD a Britax Roundabout before knowing about ERF (thanks to this board for teaching me so much!). She just turned a year old and I had no intention of turning her FF until she outgrows the weight limit. However, I hadn't even thought about the height limit. We are away for the weekend and I just happened to be sitting in the backseat with DD and read the label on the side of her seat, which says can only use RF up to 76.2 cm and DD was 78 cm at the doctor on Wednesday!! But she is still using the lowest shoulder straps, the middle ones aren't quite at the level of her shoulders.

Did I read somewhere that as long as there is 1 inch of space at the top then she can stay RF? Or do I need to switch her FF before we drive home?

I do plan on getting another seat for her so I can do ERF (thinking about the TrueFit based on recommendations here, but wonder also about another Britax because I love the seat we have -- opinions welcome!!). We have a Honda Civic so can't have anything too big.

Thanks!

I believe it is more important if she has an inch of space and she hasn't outgrown the RFing straps. The carseat manufacturers try to give a height req. like that but it doesn't fit all kids - yours sounds like she has a short torso and long legs! Some kids can outgrow it by torso before they hit the height req.
