I have a diaper that just had 2 snaps litteraly come off in the washer. I have 4 more of these diapers and nothing like this has happened to them. Could this be a problem of deffective snaps? I have no idea what to do cause i think this diaper is regulated and i cant send it to one of the wahms that put snaps on so they can fix it but is it normal for snaps on diapers to come of in the washer with time?

In my experience no its not normal. I had a cuddlebuns that had two snaps come off of it...that is the only diaper I have ever had a snap fall off of. I think it means that either the material isn't thick enough for the peg OR whoever put the snaps on didn't do it with enough force. Possibly a defective snap but more likely one of the other two problems.

I had ONE come off of them, but there are WAHM's that offer snap services, just send the diaper to them they add the snaps and send it back, it is pretty cheap if it is worth the shipping to save the diaper, I would do it!~

Did you buy it from a WAHM or direct business or did you get it used? If it is a big name dipe like ME or something, I would contact them and tell them you would like to return it. It is not normal for a snap to just come off. The only dipe I have ever had this happen with is a Re Uz Um that I got from a secondhand shop.

Sometimes snaps do come off. It can happen when the fabric is quite thick or if the peg doesn't get smushed all the way down, as someone suggested. Remember, diapers are hand-made and sometimes things don't go perfectly. NOw, I will say that usually snaps come off early in the life of a diaper, as opposed to after having been used for some time. stash and have had many snaps fall off, one diaper actually had 6 snaps come off in its very first wash! Totally freaked me out, those were defective. In my opinion it is either because they have not be smooshed down enough, smooshed too much thus causing a huge gaping hole or the snap is defective and the post snaps. It is blood irritating but part of using products with snaps. I think after many washing in some cases the plastic or resin breaks down and the posts snap. But for it to happen to a relatively new diaper is annoying, very annoying! Sometimes the fabric is too thick and the snap should have been put through only two layers and not three. If the fabric is too thick you cannot smoosh the parts together enough and they snap is not secure.

just a note- if you do use a snap service, be sure you email them before sending it to let them know what make the diaper is. there are at least 3 poly resin snaps out there, plus 2 sizes (16 & 20) for each, except MIS which uses size 16 parts all around. The snap service must have the right die and part so that the remaining snaps will fit into the sockets.
