I am wanting to buy some soft sole shoes for DS and the lady I buy them from is going to be discontinuing the kind I like. He is now needing to go up to the size 2/3 yrs and then the next size is 3/4 yrs. Before the shoes were in 6 month increments, now they are in year increments. So do they start slowing down in foot growth?

Mine hasn't. She took a HUGE foot growth spurt between 2 and 2.5 ~ moving from a 6 to a 9 <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

Wow!<br><br>
So there is no way to know possibly. DS will be 2 in less than a month. He is in size 7 for regular shoes or size 2/3years for soft soled shoes. The next size up for soft soled shoes is 3/4years.

It's hard to say, my son wore size 8 shoes from about 20 to 30 months; he is just now starting to need the next size. Before that, he was outgrowing the shoes sizes every 2 1/2 months.

It's funny how they grow. DS was going through shoes like a locomotive from when he started walking till 20 mo, now hes been in the same ones for months (he's 25 mo now.) He's been getting taller though so hs feet look more in proportion to the rest of him.

My dd wore a size 7-1/2 all last summer. In the fall she fit a size 8 and when I had her measured last week she was still an 8. So, her feet hadn't grown in 6 months. With my luck I'll buy her a pair of shoes next month and then she'll have a growth spurt and need new shoes <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">.

My 4 yo has been in size 9 for a while but I can't remember when I bought those shoes, summer last year I think. But anyway, to answer your question about a 2yo, his feet definitely were growing fast at 2 years old.
