I keep hearing references to this, mine never brought it up and I didnt even think about it. We have paid her half and she said she would take payments after the birth.

Do you have a contract with yours? What's in it?

We do with our CPM. It's basically a disclaimer stating how/when she gets paid, the scope of her services, outlines parents' responsibility, refund policies, her credentials, the fact she's not a medical professional, etc. CYA stuff.

How great your mws taking payments after the birth---she sounds flexible to work with!

We had something or other - not sure if it was technically a contract but it may have been. I remember having to submit a payment plan (dates I planned to make payments and for how much) and it needed to be payed in full by my 37th week. I'm sure there was some kind of release of liability disclaimer too.

yep...we did. to the best of my memory, it covered what her services did and didn't include, when she would be on call for our birth, and what was our responsibility and her responsiblity.

yeah, ours was like georgias, too, but my midwives have been letting us pay what we can when we can.........I think like georgia said that a lot of it is just CYA stuff "just in case".
