Thought I'd see if any of the rest of you Mamas have diapers that are well-loved (have holes, rips, binding coming loose, etc) that you still use on your little one?

I have 3 SOS that have a hole/holes that I can't bring myself to take out of rotation because they are so soft from being washed so many times.

I think the holes get a bit bigger with every wash, but it doesn't stop me from reaching for them as soon as they're clean.

So tell me...
Do you have any dipes that should be in the rag bin that are still in rotation, or am I the only dufus that does this? :LOL

I have some that I still use that are totally in shreds. Some have holes, some don't even have elastic any more but I'm too lazy to fix them. These ratty ones are the first ones I grab because they are so cute on my DS. They are old old kissaluvs and are so trim (probably because they are so worn there is hardly any fabric left LOL!) I just made a ton of hemp soakers for them so at least they are functional.

Before I made us a bunch of new diapers, we were using a third-time handed-down stash of ME's that had most of the terry loops falling out! So there were these bald polyester mesh patches shining through, and horrendous diaper rocks in the tabs and stuff.....but I still used them because I liked having something I could just snap on. And they were free - that's a big deciding factor, too!

I got some diapers from Zeke when he first started to wear toddlers at the age of 8 months and they look really used cause he is still using them at night now at age 3.

I also have some SOS that have holes in the outer knit fabric. They still work fine so I will probably use them till they fall apart

Oh! I forgot about my most "well loved" diapers! I don't have them anymore, because they finally kicked the bucket....but I was diapering Davey (16 mos) with preolds that belonged to my sisters......18 YEARS AGO. Talk about SOFT! (and ratty!)

Yes!
I have a few Bodinks, Kissaluvs and some FMBG's that have holes that breed in the wash, but I still love them

I actually have just yanked out of rotation two Angle Luv fitteds that were given to me well loved. In turn, I beat the crud out of them for more than a year straight. I'm amazed the mega hole that I ripped open a bit more to see what the soaker really was is the only major thing wrong with them. (interlock and terry)
Well mega hole and the hole babies I should say :LOL Plus the fabric on a whole is really worn thin. I wonder what brand of elastic the WAHM used, cuz it's fine.

My other old dipe is a terry sully bunz. Loved and wore the heck out of it after buying that used too. I noticed just after this last time washing it that a lot of the terry on stress points has worn down to the bare weave. I think the elastic is going too, making it too big on both ds's, but it's so soft I use it anyways. With a doubler now lol. Oh, and with that dipe I found out that peanut butter takes the dye out of fabric if you let it sit with peanut butter and pee in the pail for a day or so.

Add on two shot kissaluvs, stained beyond "natural terry" being able to cover it, elastic gone bye bye over the summer. I wonder what it is with kissaluvs and elastic going. I see a lot of it on eBay and I have two others that are on their way to no elastic. Plus these dipes were seconds to begin with - if they had holes they'd have all the strikes against them LOL. They too are soft.

I have a SOS that just wont die. It was the first WAHM diaper I ever bought. Its still the first diaper I reach for, so its always in the wash. Still takes forever to dry, too.

My sister recently retired an couple if ancient Kushies AIO's. The elastic was hanging out as well as a large part of the soaker. The velcro didnt work and she had to use a cover. Plus they were too small for her babe. These diapers were on their third baby.

Yup. I've got holey dipes, some w/ elastic that no longer works... still keep using them though.

I have ME OS dipes that I got new when my first child was 3 months old- these now (4 years later) have the bald polyester mesh patches but I threw out the ones with the diaper rocks- these were too uncomfortable. I still use the ones without the rocks sometimes. I am sort of attached to them because they have been thru two kids and are well-loved ven though they don't absorb much any more.
