I am curious if anyone else has experienced this... I have discovered a weird hard lumpy area right underneath where I was stitched for a 2nd degree perineal tear. (my baby is 5 1/2 weeks old). The MW wants to see it next week in case it is a cyst of some kind. But it doesn't hurt or anything, and somehow feels too "solid" and not "floaty" like a cyst. I suspect it is scar tissue.

Anyone else have anything like this? Does it go away over time, or cause any problems longer term?

Yes, I have scar tissue, too. My sob did an epis : , and so I wasn't thrilled about the whole thing. It caused me problems, pain that is, for a few months and then was still easily irritated later, during sex. I am loudly campaigning for not being cut this next time (coming up soon!). But it eventually will get better, you might not have any pain from it, or it might bug you for a while. You will likely get a whole range of responses here. Even though, since you had a tear and not a cut, it might not be quite so bad. They tend to cut more than necessary, and you tear, well, as much as you need to!
