And not a breastfeeding mama.<br><br>
My cousin just delievered a healthy full term little boy. She didn't discover she was pregnant until December...she was 5 months along.<br><br>
She says she had all the symptoms, weight gain (she's about average size, maybe a little heavier...not heavy by any means), morning sickness, etc...she says she chalked it up to starting college, her sister passing (Feb of 2005) and moving away from home (yadda yadda yadda).<br><br>
So do you know anyone?<br><br>
Is it just denial or honestly not knowing about your body?

My uncles GF didn't know she was PG until she went into labor. She had no symptoms of PG at all. No one in my family knew and she lived with them.

Gal I worked with... she was an avid runner and her period was very irregular. She wasn't consistent about taking her BCP and regularly went out and partied on the weekends. She was grousing about gaining 5 pounds and was going to go on a diet. One day at work, she started having a really bad backache and went to the ER to get pain meds. NO CLUE that she was pg. She gave birth to a 6lb ? oz baby girl - talk about a shock. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/dizzy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Dizzy">:

I know TWO people who didn't know they were pregnant until they were in labor with full term babies! They were both overweight. One had only had sex one time in her life, and she conceived. She was a teen, and just in denial that she could be pregnant, I think. She never had regular periods in the first place, though. The other woman's partner passed away within a week of the conception. She figured all her "health problems" were related to the stress of losing him.

I know of a gal who was over 20 weeks pregnant before she found out. This was her 3rd pregnancy<br><br>
She couldn't figure out why she wasn't having her period. Kept taking tests, all negative.<br><br>
She has never had ms with any of her pregnancies.<br>
Not does she get cravings or gain weight till the end.<br><br>
She finally gave up and got worried and went to her dr had an US and found out she was preggo.<br><br>
She was very shocked needless to say.

I am just wondering....didn't they feel the baby move (I am thinking about those who found out when they were in labor)

The gal I knew said that she never felt movement - the OB that delivered said it was due to the orientation of her uterus.

For my last 2 pregnancies, I didn't know until 3 months because I kept getting "periods." For one of my pregnancies, I never felt the baby move (but I knew I was pregnant, so I was constantly terrified she was gone). But anyway, if I'd had both in the same pregnancy-- continued "periods" and no discernable movement-- I could easily have gotten to six months or so, clueless.<br><br>
I am normal weight/slightly underweight.

One interesting thing-- with the pregnancy where I felt no movement, during ultrasounds I could SEE movement, but I felt nothing. It was the weirdest thing! She was a small baby... maybe the amniotic fluid cushioned the movement? I gained very little weight with that pregnancy, too, so it wasn't fat cushioning movement.

My grandmother didn't know that she was pregnant with my aunt until labor started.<br><br>
She was in her 40's and thought that menopause had started. She's obese, so she thought that the weight gain was just part of "the change."<br><br>
I dunno why she didn't feel kicking. Maybe because she was so large?

But even though she gained little weight, didn't her body change? How about her belly? Stayed slim with a full term baby???

My friend was about 17 weeks along when she found out. She'd been feeling off for a few weeks but attributed it to stress from her mother recently dying. Her last period was short and then it was just absent but they had never been regular anyway. She had actually lost weight since her mom's death, but she was very overweight to begin with and belly changes were slow to really show up well.<br><br>
In the end it was her laying on her back that did it. We were watching TV and her belly visibly moved. She went in the next day and sure enough. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

No changes really... No one even guessed that she was pg and she was pretty skinny - maybe a size 8?

I know a couple of women. One continued to have regular period-like bleeding the entire pregnancy, so she never suspected she was pg until she was about 7 months along.<br><br>
My mom had a friend who had six kids and never skipped a single 'period.'<br><br>
Another was very young and fairly stupid. I think denial played into it.

My cousin didnt know with her first until into the 2nd trimester. Thats not as bad as women who didnt know until labor started, but I was shocked.

With DS1 I was really overweight and didn't look PG, I didn't even wear maternity clothes. I did know I was PG right away but as far as the baby moving I was 7 months along before I felt any movement and those were just butterfly feelings. Honestly I get those feelings even today but it's just gas.

A co-worker of a friend of mine didn't find out she was pregnant until she was I think seven months along. I believe she had been told she couldn't have kids (she's in her 40's and had been married for almost 20 years, I think). She found out because she was laying in bed on night, with a plate resting on her stomach and the baby kicked and knocked the plate off! She's a bigger lady, too, so she didn't show, either.

I will never understand how this is possible! A pregnant belly just looks nothing like being "chubby" at least not to me! Maybe if you were already way overweight I could see... but... but... but...<br><br>
I. do. not. get. it.

I'm kind of jealous of these women though. Imagine how fast your pregnancy would go if you found out at 5-7 months along!
