I bet it's one of these, because why pay less when you can pay more?

Yeah, look she's right there on the magazines...

thanks!

they are very nice looking. but seriously, 350.00???
guess if money was no object?

OK, i'm a moron. i looked at two, apparently the most expensive two. then stopped because i aSSumed that they would all be the same price LOL

not too bad for something a star would use

you know what i find amusing? looking through that website i only saw a couple of pictures where the sling looks like it's being worn correctly... either the baby was riding really low, the fabric was loose, or the sling was riding up on the parents shoulder... you'd think for $350 those parents would get some good detailed directions!

edited to add- yeah, when i looked thru the whole catalog the prices were $150, $198, $250, and $350... i can see spending $150 on a really nice well made carrier, but $350 just blows my mind.
To tell you the truth, Kate Hudson probably didn't pay for it. PSNY would have given it to her as a promo, I'm willing to bet. Just so she would wear it and have her picture taken.

ITA about the pictures, that one with the yellow sling and the baby in the blue hat! The model is holding the baby, the sling just happens to be there looking pretty.

I don't know that I would drop $350 on one, but as someone said they do have a number of $150 ones and I would be willing to spend that on a baby carrier that I thought was beautiful and loved. I have been to the store in NYC and the fabrics are really beautiful. And their shoulder style is very different, I don't know of another sling brand made exactly that way.

However, I do agree that the pictures show some people not wearing them quite right; Kate Hudson looks like she knows more than some of the the models. And when I went to try on one of the store demos, the sales clerk started to help me and then stopped and said "Oh, you've obviously done this before."

Wow, it is nice to see a celebrity wearing a nice looking sling though
I have never sean that brand before.
As for the price...these people can spend $5000 on a manicure/pedicure what is $350 relatively you know?

On the other hand...

That magazine poll though is kind of a$$holish and snarky, don't ya think? "Does Ryder look old enough to walk?" Of course he can walk! But have you ever seen that kind of snarky comment when some celeb pushed a toddler in a stroller? And furthermore, have you ever been on a walk with a toddler where they didn't want to be carried/strolled after about 10 minutes of walking? If she was carrying him on her hip without a sling nothing would be mentioned in the tabloid about it and her arms would be tired. Slings are sso misunderstood.

Yes, i noticed this, too, and totally agree with everything you said. Nothing would have been said if a stroller or just arms had been used. Makes no sense.
ITA about the walking question the posed.

Those fabrics are pretty and I imagine that is why the cost so much, but the design is no different than a sahm version that sells for $30.
oh but i still want one oh so badly.

my kissasling is a sad sight after almost 4 yrs of consistent use. it's faded all over the sholder from 2 yrs of use in the FL sun. the fabric doesn't stay put in the rings anymore, for some reason it just starts to slide out and i need to tie the tail in a knot. i'm afraid we're getting areas of wear and i still need that sling because my youngest doesn't even walk yet. LOL

confirm with me that 150.00 isn't that bad for a beautiful sling

Sorry, I can not in good conscience confirm that. You could get fabric at $50 a yard and have it made for less.
I think $150 is rediculus. I made mine, and I think it is prettier than that. The rings cost me about $3 anf I got really nice fabric for $15 a yard, so it only cost me about $20. I think it is great to see a celebraty holding thier child in a sling, and talking to him, and thought the poll was awful.

I disagree with others on this one and will be happy to enable you if you really want to purchase this sling. $150 for a sling made from beautiful fabric that you love and will use daily for a long time is perfectly reasonable IMO. Most ring slings take about 2.5 yards of fabric. Yes, you could probably make it yourself for less, but usually you can make one of anything yourself for less (though not in time spent).

I have a $150 silk Zolo ring sling that I fell is well worth that price. I think anything you love and use to death is worth that price, if you can afford it.

I agree with what you said about the question of Can Ryder walk? I actually voted NO just to prove the point that it's a loaded question to be nasty. You GO Kate Wear that little one! Who cares how much the sling costs. At least there are slings that attract celebrities to wear them.

Did you read the catalog?

"Psling is NOT a baby carrier."

:

What a load.

$350 is INSANE, even for linen. Heck $150 is insane for cotton - I don't care who dyed it.

I think this article is a must-read and perfectly appropriate here. It explains the cost behind small business and hand-crafted items. In this particular case, Psny has to pay for her location which probably adds a lot of value to the sling in some intangible way to us crunchy granola folks.

You're absolutely right, and elite socialites will NOT buy a $30-50 WAHM sling. There HAS to be a draw for them to do something better than pay their nannies to push their little ones around. I actually have a friend whose roomates in college were worn by their nannies and they said they're greatful for this support.
thanks for the article.

i do think that it's a lot of money, but i looked all over the internet last night and found nothing that i liked more.

if kissaluvs still made slings i'd probably buy another kissasling, cause it's very similar. i want a very light weight fabric that is still very durable and strong. most sling makers use such heavy fabrics, and i don't like them.
wasn't the kissasling just cotton jersey? you might like the mama baby sling by maya wrap... it's like a nice, comfy t-shirt. although they don't come in funky colors you could easily dye a natural one yourself.
