hi, I've been looking for a nice wooden highchair for my DD (7 mo) and originally thought I'd get the Tripp Trapp. Then my DH pointed out that we frequently don't eat at the dining table, but on the sofa, etc. so we needed to get a chair that has a tray but will grow w/ our babe.

if you have one, would you recommend it?

We have one, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I actually chased out savings bonds to be able to buy it, since it is sooooo not in our budget range, but knew that it would save us from having to buy a booster later. And in terms of it growing with your child, we've already adjusted it a few times to make it comfortable for our DS. It's great to have that level of adjustibility.

The tray is easy to clean, the height is really great and it's level with our table. DS also likes to sit in it with toys while I do the dishes. It also looks really great with the rest of our furniture - not some big hunk of plastic.

thank you so much! it is soooooo not in our budget, either, but grandma is willing to buy a highchair for DD (probably thinking of getting a biggy plastic-y thing) but DH says to get it and if she wants to chip in, great. We have few baby things, and have purchased little, but I wanted to be sure before taking the plunge!!

I was gonna get that highchair (also out of our budget but dp mom was gonna buy it) luckly a store in town had it and I got to see it in person im soo glad I did! its soo tiny in person and would of not fit are table at all! lol. The lady at the store told me that people do love it but that it is too small for some peoples tables. I still love the look of it though!

Yeah, the tinyness of it is part of why we love it so much. We live in an apartment, and the less space things take up, the better. And with the Svan, we don't have a plastic behemoth in our living/dining area at all times.
