I'm just kinda curious how many NFL type families have guns. I'm not sure why I have the interest in knowing though.....

We don't have guns. "We" are two women, one 42 and the other 18, living in a "not very good" section of town.

I've never owned one or wanted to own one.

My husband owns guns for sport and food. He's even been on safari in Africa. He ate the meat of the animals he killed there. What was not eaten was sold to European restaurants. Apparently there is a big market for African game meat there. Personally, I don't see the thrill of hunting. I can think of a thousand things I'd rather do. I do like meat, though, whether it be from the supermarket or from the game processor.

I voted yes, other because it only allowed for one option to be checked. I could have voted for all 3 of the first choices. Sport, Protection, and Food.

I voted no, no interest. My DH and I don't really like guns.

However, growing up, my dad and his brothers used to hunt for food. We lived on venison (and mac-n-cheese -- the homemade kind ). I have no interest in hunting though.

I wouldn't own a gun for any other reason.

We do not currently own any firearms unless you are counting airsoft/BB type guns. We are not against owning them though. I was raised around them, my kids have shot them, and my Ds plans to get one when he is a bit older.

I selected other... the first 3 all apply. DH is LE. We shoot for sport, DH hunts, and guns are a part of our home and self protection plan. We are very responsible fire arms owners.

Guns are only unsafe when not stored correctly, used by someone who has no business touching one, or having a mechanical flaw.

No gun. No interest. Though I do have a couple good quality sharp swords around, if I needed protection.

Same here, and DH and I haven't lived in "nice" neighborhoods since we lived with our parents (or in dorms).

No but my dad has one for dh. He's interested in doing target shooting. He also wants a bow for the same reason.

We own a shotgun. When I was with my ex we had several handguns... my favorite was the .38 special. We used go to the shooting gallery on a regular basis. I love shooting guns. I have liked guns since I was a little girl, I don't really know why. I do feel better having one around. I have never had to use one, but I guess I just feel like you never know. If some crazy survival scenario was to happen, I'd feel much better having one.

Nope. Not even toy ones.

Don't know how to shoot one, don't want to. Don't like hunting (although I eat meat), never been, never want to.

They are also too dangerous. I won't have them in my house.

I voted yes, for hunting, because that's mostly what one of them is used for. We also use them for target practicing/sport and protection, though, too.

We have a few, and I'm sure more in the future, and we have them for the first 3.

We do NOT own toy guns and our children are not allowed to make guns (like out of blocks)
