Just wondering. I'm thinking of getting my parents one for Christmas. But I can't afford 2. Do couples share them? Or is that wack?

I doubt I could pry the Kindle out of my DH's hands long enough to even try and read a book.

It might be tough. I don't have an e-reader, but when DH and I read, it's often at the same time.

My mom got us each an iPod Touch recently, and at first I thought we would have been fine with just one to share, but now I'm SO glad she got us each one -- it's bad enough having to fight my kids for time on it, I can't imagine having to fight DH for it too!

Could you get one now and, if they like it, get another for one of their birthdays or something a few months down the road?

Hi Buzzer Beater, you share it with your DP? How does that work?

Quote:

We are getting Kindles for my parents - but one of each of them b/c they aren't married and live in separate states... so sharing would be really tough. :lol I'm splitting the cost with my siblings - can you do that?

Whoever gets it, gets it. We still have the newspaper, Orion mag, Mothering mag etc around the house, so we never fight over it. It's also given us a chance to share each other's picks in fiction/non-fiction. I love love love it but it doesn't 100% take the place of books. I also tend to read more during the day when dd is napping, he reads more at night. I think we both have more than a few things going at once, too.

I don't and wouldn't because I have stuff on there I would be embarrassed for others to know I read.

I don't share mine. My DH and I both like to read at bedtime so it wouldn't really work. We'll eventually get one for him. I read a lot more than he does.

My dad, my brother, and I went in on a Kindle for my mom. She and I share an amazon account so if one of us buys a book we both get it (awesome). There are several games that I know my dad likes and I suggested they could share it but she loves it so much I am sure no sharing will take place. ;)

I love my kindle too!!!!!
