I slept on my belly as long as I could. Now that ds is 11 1/2 mo (and #2 is due in March - WHOO HOO!!!) I am BANNED from doing so! Actually since ds was born since it really decreases milk supply. All I know is it somehow keeps the ole boobs from filling up so well.
: Man do I miss sleeping on my tummy though!!!

i sometimes sleep on my belly for part of the night. From what i understand, just be comfortable at this phase. Your little one is far too small to be squished at this point and you can't impinge any major arteries with uterine size yet.

I just can't bring myself to even though I normally love to sleep on my belly. I know everyone says its safe and all but I'm just a constant worrier about silly things

i sleep however is comfortable... from what i hear it's ok to do so this early in the game. i usually fall asleep on my stomach and wake up on my back for some reason.

as of late, laying on my right side (which is how i normally fall asleep) is not so good. it seems early on for it to bother me, but it does in a slight, annoying tug-y cramp-y kinda way, so i avoid it generally...

I sleep on my belly! It does seem to be the most comfortable position to a lot of the time right now. I'm not worried about it because I am tossing and turning so much to try to get comfortable these days that I'm never in the same position for very long. But if I can get two comfortable hours out of it at night, I do it!

I can't lay on my tummy...my breasts are waaaaaay too sore for that. Never been much of a belly sleeper anyway. Now I also can't sleep on my back for too long because the front of my right thigh keeps going numb (same if I sit too long, too). Side sleeping seems the only way to go, but I can't keep in that position too long...I'm a restless sleeper. Don't know how that's going to work with cosleeping...

Hi -- visiting from February. I actually asked the same question a couple of weeks back and there were a lot of responses. Lots of people seem to sleep on the stomachs, even those who are much further along than we are. Do a search on the February DDC if you are interested.

I am still sleeping on my belly. I put one leg on a body pillow so I am tilted to the side a little bit, but sometimes I wake up flat on my belly. It is still comfy for me at this point. We also have a soft pillow-top mattress, so my belly has room to kind of sink down into the bed.

I think you should sleep however you are comfortable. I sleep on my back throughout pregnancy because that is where I am most comfortable.
