I recently was on some bfing site where there was a 3-minute advocate section where you could send letters to organizations, etc. I also saw that there were places to e-mail the Dixie chicks telling them to bf.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I know it isn't their personal e-mail accounts or anything and that they probably get lots of crazy letter about all sorts of things. I also know that having public figures who bf is great for our country. Do you think it has any impact on them? Are people writing Julia Roberts too? I just can't imagine someone writing me to tell me how they think I should feed my baby. Now I know some people are misinformed regarding bfing and all that and in those cases it would help inform them of the options thus maybe changing their minds. But it just seems like people are going to do what is best for them and a bunch of e-mails isn't going to make a difference. I am an advocate and all but this just seems like it is going a bit beyond where I am comfortable. I would write TV shows asking them to have mothers bfing or write wal mart and tell them to make a nice place for bfing moms to sit, but writing someone like Natalie Maines and telling her it would be great if she bfs seems kind of intrusive. What do you think?
