They are free downloadable bulletin boards. I need to set some up for my knitting classes.

I recently setup a phpbb for myself. It was easy to install and easy to customize. It's not as powerful as vbulletin, but it works for a small site. I am not familiar with the other boards.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you look into simple machines - it is a free downloadable message board and my absolute favorite (www.simplemachines.com) - I Admin a board of over 150 women and we tested a LOT of boards (Phpbb, phpbb2, yabbse, wowbb, ikonbb, invisionboard) and of the testers this was the universal favorite. AND, on the plus side, it doesn't use much bandwidth at all.

Hmmmm - maybe they have a web host issue? I have the install if you are interested - if you want to check out what it looks like you can visit our (incomplete) test site at www.theinvisiblecommunity.net/simpleboard - use the login tester and the password test and you can explore everything including the Admin panel.

(I can tell you this publicly because I just haven't gotten around to deleting our test site, and so if anyone else logs in it's not a big deal - you can even change colors if you want.

)
