Lately I am reading about amzonian soils from the old civilizations which are very fertile and they include a lot of charcoal. I do not have a garden yet(but I am working towards getting it), so i am wondering if you tried it and what were the results and what kind of charcoal and how much did you use?

I have not tried it,but if I did use it(or anything new) I would dig a small plot and see how things grew there before slowly expanding use.

You have such a big and beautiful yard - big playground for the gardener! I am so jealous... We live in the city in condo and i am talking and talking to my husband about moving out to the place with sveral acres, but for now we are here.
