If your child is screaming and crying at the top of his/her lungs (I mean, really screaming), does it cause the child to cough and gag a bit? Is this normal?<br><br>
DD has been sick with various mystery coughing ailments for so long, but is finally doing better. Pathetically, I can't even remember what's normal anymore, so I need your help! This is now the only time she coughs, and I can't decide if it's "okay" or not.

yes. in fact DS has, in the past, caused himself to barf by actually choking while coughing while crying. Fortunately this was some time ago, the one incident I'm thinking of, I still don't know what caused it.

Yes my kid will really work herself up, especially if she is in trouble or throwing a tantrum... which usually go hand and hand.

Yep all three of mine do. And they'll all puke if they keep crying too...even the 8 yo. I'm hoping they grow out of this. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Thank you!! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> I'm happy to think that this may be just "normal" (well, as much as crying till you cough can be normal).
