I have been rinsing out dd's dipes in the sink after scraping as much as I can into the toilet. I just feel weird about using the sink after, even though I disinfect, ya k now? I'm not really interested in getting a sprayer, my bathroom is super small .What do you mamas do?

I usually use the toilet. Sometimes I use the bathtub/shower but I wouldn't use the sink. That would gross me out while I was brushing my teeth or something.

I have used the sink many times. All we use it for is brushing our teeth....take the plug thingy out so the poop goes clear down. As for cleaning. A little bottle of spray bleach
I also would just throw poop diapers in the wash. She was down to 1 time a day so that became my time to do the rest of the diapers. Just add an extra rinse cycle.

I always use the sink. Always have. Way less gross than sticking my hands in the toilet IMO. I don't usually use the sink in the master bath though.

I always use the sink. I don't think it's gross at all to brush my teeth in, because I spit toothpaste in the sink.... I'm not licking the sink.

I think it's perfectly fine, and the sink washes. I wouldn't even go as far as to use bleach. Just use dishsoap to clean the sink after you do a rinse. I keep a spray bottle of dishsoap diluted in water, and I spray the shower and sink with it on a regular basis. That will clean it right up... no problem.

I rinse in the toilet all the time and the only reason my hands get wet is from wringing out the diaper....so I don't see how rinsing in the toilet is gross. Doesn't rinsing in the sink kind of turn the sink into a toilet?

Sometimes I drop my toothbrush in the sink, or more often, my kids do...I'd be buying a lot of toothbrushes if I rinsed diapers in the sink.

Great advice already, but you do realize that the sprayer takes up all of 2" on the side of the toilet, if that? Unless your toilet tank is right up against something else, or you've already had to hang things off the side of the tank for lack of room, the sprayer would fit.

It would definitely take up less room than a spray bottle of bleach kept in the bathroom.

I rinse my diapers off in the kitchen sink with the sprayer. I clean it afterwards, and it is not like I have to worry about the dirty dishes getting dirty! Honestly, It is probably cleaner now than before I had diapers to mess with.

I totally agree. Seriously....... you can use the sink. Just wash it. Unless your baby has some sort of nasty illness (which I'm sure you would know about) it's not going to hurt a thing. Even if your babe has a nasty.... just use a good cleaner. You don't need bleach, even.

A natural disinfectant: Get two spray bottles. Fill one with vinegar and one with hydrogen peroxide. Spray with one, then with the other.... let set for a minute or two, and this works better than bleach to kill germs. It's natural and safe... kills germs.... no problem!

I did have a sprayer, but for some reason mine leaked bad. I contacted the seller, who said they would send another, but they never did. I ended up throwing it away. I wouldn't mind another... but it's easy enough to just use the sink..... so why bother?

I use the toilet...but I don't put my hands in it. I dunk the dipe in it as many times as it needs and I hold it by a dry corner. I have the pail right beside the toilet. I don't wring out the dipe or anything. i just bring the pail right close to the water and plop the dripping dipe into it. On rare occasions when the whole dipe must be dunked and there is no dry corner to hold onto with my bare hands, I get out rubber gloves to fish it out and then I wash the rubber gloves, like I would wash my hands.

I use the sink... BUT my kids' bathroom has double sinks. So they brush their teeth in one sink and I use the other one for diapers. That way if I need to soak a diaper to get it good and rinsed I can leave it there. I also have DH leave poopy dipes in that sink if I'm not home... he wasn't on board with switching to cloth so our compromise is that he changes the diaper and leaves it for me to deal with later. Usually it's easier to get rid of the poop if it's dried out anyways. I do wash the sink out too.

I always use the toilet. And yeah I go right ahead and stick my hand in the toilet and swish the dipe real good. It's totally gross sometimes, but always wash my hands after with antibacterial soap, so I don't see a big problem.

Ooh, I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I use the kitchen sink, am I grossing anyone out here? I thought about a sprayer, but I have zero room in the bathroom for it. I scrub the sink after with vinegar. I just can't help but cringe when I strain veggies later in the day. I just don't think I can go the toilet route, maybe, I'll try. I've also never tried letting it sit for a while, and letting it fall out , I'll have to try that as well. Thanks!:

I just can't do the kitchen/bathroom sink thing. I understand the washing it out after and everything, but I still don't think I can do it. I also hate swishing in the toilet. Right now I use flushable liners as much as possible, and when I don't, I use the laundry sink out in the laundry room. It's already dirty and I don't use it for anything else. =P I think I'm going to order a diaper sprayer next week, though. It's the adjustable kind, so I can use it for myself after I give birth in October. ;-)
