I have instructions for a tube style sling so I think I am going to just try it tonight. And if it works and I like it I think I will dye it a fun color! I will let you know how it works!

I have one. It makes a great pouch, but it needs to be adjustable. Otherwise hemp jersey is too stretchy.

And you need to make sure that you sew it with the fabric in the correct direction so it doesn't stretch down, it only stretches out.

Doesn't Jen (mom-and-me) make the slings out of hemp fleece? I know it seems like a picky detail, but I've worked with hemp fleece and it doesn't seem like it'd be as stretchy as jersey (think - sweatshirt vs. t-shirt here), yet it is still very stretchy! You cannot make a tube style sling out of something that stretches more than say 3 inches across without it having to be adjustable. I tried making non-adjustable pouches out of hemp fleece WAAY back in the early days and was quite unsuccessful.

Now hemp twill and muslin make great pouches.

I do really reccomend Jens pouch I was very skeptical of hemp fleece being a good sling fabric but in the end its alot cosier than my cotton pouches.
Sometimes you can find them for sale used on the swap? actually she did just have a fundraiser auction on a new one if I recall..they come up on Ebay too.

I guess I am mostly looking to buy a hemp pouch though cotton would probably do too.

I don't know of anyone else who makes adjustable hemp pouches. But the links you were given should get you a non-adjustable hemp pouch, non-adjustable cotton pouch, or an adjustable cotton pouch.

Are you looking for yourself? If so, I would caution against a cotton pouch without leg padding or some sort of stretch, as they can dig into a toddler's legs. For example, my KKACP digs into my toddler's legs, my PIP does not.

Have you seen these in person or tried them? They are instock at a good price so I am considering getting one but I would love to hear an opinion on it.

Yeah I do know but I dont think I will have much luck getting a PIP. I looked at the size chart and I think I need a small. A med. *might* work but I know a large wont for sure. What size do you have? How much range do you feel like it gives you?

Ok well now the more I am looking the more I like the hotsling pouch vs. the ten toes pouch.

Mostly for the reasons you said S. It will be a bit stretchy and the price is better too. And all the raves about Hotslings are a bonus. Ok -- I think I will order.

I hate how hard this is!

If you do find a PIP, you would need a small. I have a small/med (I got it from another mom who custom ordered it), and it fits. You weigh less than I do, so would definitely go with the small. It has about 6 rows of snaps, all about an inch apart, so gives the maximum adjustability for newborn - toddler. But it sounds like you're considering the Hotsling -- I actually think it will be cooler in your hot weather than hemp.
