<p>I just had my titanium implant put in a couple of weeks ago, and will be getting fitted for my sound processor on Jan 4th.  </p>

<p>I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or tips for me?</p>

<p>no experience with the BAHA but my daughter has bilateral Nucleus 5 implants (cochlear).</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply!  The baha is also made by Cochlear.  Have you had any issues with the company?  I'm very excited to be able to regain some of my hearing.  I had a BTE for my right ear for < 1 year, and I wasn't very pleased with it.  I had surgery on my left ear in July, but they are going to have to do it again.  </p>

<p>If you go to Cochlear's website, they have a forum. I bet you could find some people on there with BAHAs. I have actually only met one person with a BAHA. He was a kiddo, about 10, and he actually had two!</p>

<p>We discussed a BAHA softband for my son, he wasn't a good candidate for a BTE aid.  But we finally ended up getting him a personal FM which is working fantastically for him.  We still discuss the BAHA softband sometimes because he has frequent infections and can't wear his FM when he's infected, so we're wondering if a softband FM system might be an alternate solution for him.  Not sure yet.</p>

<p>My coworker's son wears an anchored BAHA.  He has a lot of trouble with infections at the anchor site, but he has other complicating medical issues that are causing it.  His hearing is pretty decent with his BAHA, I think his dad said he's around 40dB loss while wearing it?  </p>

<p>Working with Cochlear has been great so far. They've screwed up a couple times with our orders or replacement parts but you let them know and you have the new parts like the next day. Customer service with them is great and we've even had a few reps at her mappings and they are wonderful to work with and very helpful if you have any questions your audiologist doesn't answer. <p>Another shout out for Cochlear! Our dd received bilateral cochlear implants (Freedom's) at 12mos and 18mos.</p>
