My DD is going to the dentist for her first check-up at the age or 2.5 years. We recently moved to a new town, so it's a new dentist that none of us have ever seen before. I just received the new patient forms for DD's appointment and I'm not sure what to do about this question.

My kids don't drink flouridated water and don't use flouride toothpaste. I firmly believe, after a lot of research on my part, that flouride is more harmful than helpful. I also believe that diet is the most important part of dental health, and we eat in a manner that I believe to be optimal.

So what's the problem? I'm sick of arguing the point with doctors, dentists, my family, etc. Think it would be totally awful to flat out lie on the forms? I just don't know that I have the energy to argue with yet another healthcare provider over this.

I would just say yes and decline any floride treatments. It will save you some hassle and the dentist never needs to know differently

(watch him like a hawk!! My ped, who is anti-flouride, yay!, said she took her son in, and specified he was not to receive any flouride...she left the room for a sec to fill out something, and BAM, they gave him a flouride treatment!!!!)
