I'm no gardener, but I've noticed that indoor plants do not cause bugs in my house unless I ever put the plants outside temporarily. I made the mistake of putting some outside on occasion and then it seemed some bugs laid eggs in the soil.

I just moved to a new house and bought some indoor plants. The next day, a huge army of gnats were present next to the plants. BTW, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I bet either the store you bought them from or the shipping truck exposed them to the elements. Perhaps it's best to buy indoor plants in the winter when we don't have to worry about this. :)
