My dd is 9 month old and except for breastmilk she is eating very little solids. This is so because she is allergic to 99% of the veggies, fruits, cereals, etc. (Oh, and my goal is not to breastfeed her exclusively, quite the opposite). Our pediatrician recommended to give her vitamin drops (brand name Tri-Vi-Sol) because she is not getting much from the foods she eats. I know that iron drops are not good for babies. He recommended it before but I never gave it to my daughter. However, I am not sure whether giving her these vitamin drops is a good idea. I would appreaciate if you could direct me to some articles that will prove its usefulness or just give me your advice--based on your knowledge- do they do more harm or good for the baby?

I looked up the ingredients and I personally would not give this brand.I really don't feel an infant needs vitamins. They get all they need from breastmilk, and any extra food is just for exploration and not really to meet nutritional needs.
The kelly ap site is sure to have some good info.Let me go look it up for you.
