I mean, it's all supposed to be sodium bicarbonate. But there's:
* the bulk from the health food store
* Bob's Redmill
* mainstream brand
* store brand (the cheap stuff I usually get)
* somewhere i saw 'feed quality' or something

Is the issue that it can be contaminated with other stuff? What other stuff? Where would I find out?

I use feed grade in the laundry. It's Arm&Hammer brand just like the stuff from the grocery stores, but not so finely ground. I use the regular A&H for my hair as it dissolves more quickly and easily. The only other difference is that the feed grade is much cheaper.

If it says "sodium bicarbonate" or "bicarbonate of soda" then that's all that should in there.
