What can I do with my dog's poop? Between two boxers, my yard will not be a place to play in this summer! Do I just pick them up and throw them in the trash? Are they good for the yard, to help grow? (we have clay based soil) Also, we put out a yellow pole thing we brought at petsmart that gives a smell to allow pups to poop only that spot, never worked. However, the deer that comes in our yard from the woods love it and it works for them!!! Go figure?!

The pole won't work without training. No matter what the package might promise. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><br><br>
Just train your dogs to go in one spot (it's a pain for a week or two, but well worth it). And then pick up after them. Just toss in the trash. Or, they make composting things for dog poop now I believe. I don't have my own backyard, so I just toss it in a public trash can.

WE reuse the plastic grocery bags and fill those with poop and throw out. SOmeone else posted about composting dog poop and I found some links- I might try that. <a href="http://www.cityfarmer.org/petwaste.html" target="_blank">http://www.cityfarmer.org/petwaste.html</a><br><br>
I also recently switched food from cheap grocery store stuff to more quality stuff that costs almost twice as much, but they eat less, therefore poop less (YAY) and they are healthier. It's about $20 for a 20 lb bag,but it lasts me about a month or so.
