I'm thinking of getting dd a dollhouse for her birthday. We can't afford to splurge on a $100+ type, but really want a well-made wooden one. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Melissa & Doug fold & go dollhouse? Or I also saw a reasonable price nearby for the Little Doll House by Plan Toys: http://www.yourtoys.co.uk/acatalog/plan_dollhouses.html Just looking for thoughts about these or ideas for other nice, wooden, but not REALLY expensive dollhouses?! Thanks.

i saw one at target in the house-decorating section. Unfinished wood. My one criticism of it was no staircase. It was reasonably priced but you'd need to finish it somehow.

Well, I haven't been able to find one I like in our price range, so we've postponed getting one until Christmas. I ended up getting a Brio train set instead (off Ebay) for her birthday.

Flor--- I can't seem to get your link to work. I did a search at babystyle for dollhouse & nothing came up. I wonder if it sold out or something? I'd really like to see what you found for $29!!!

boongirl--- Thanks for the ideas & the links. I knew that Plan & Brio were connected somehow, and that recycled rubberwood sounds very eco-friendly.
Ebay is a great idea; that's mainly where I've been looking for dollhouses! I'm hoping something good will come up on there between now & Christmas. The expense is mainly in the fact that most are sold so you need to buy the dollhouse AND the furniture AND the people, etc.

Thanks!
