you could just walk into a store and buy cloth diapers?

I have been lurking here some, reading everywhere, and asking everyone I know for advice.. and I still don't know what kind of diapers I want. I wish I could just touch diapers, have my kids try them on, and most importantly, have them in my hands now!

Just wanted to delurk and vent a little

No kidding. I would love to check things out in person. How cool would it be to even try them on the little ones! I don't know if I would by more if I had a store to go to or buy fewer 'cause I would see them in person and not keep ordering new ones to try. Hmmmm....what fun it would be.

I have been thinking of opening a store in my town. I went and showed a lady who owns a coffee shop with crafts some dipes I made and she wants to sell them
I wouldnt want to take away from WAHM's but I also wish I could look at them- I have bought so many that just didnt look right in person or looked better- it is such a toss up- it is like you never know what you will get.

I hear ya!
The money saved on shipping would be tremendous.
As it stands right now, you just have to order one of everything that you think you want to try and see how it works out for you.
What doesn't work, you can sell on the TP or one of many other diapering sale boards.
Which brings me to say that buying dipes used saves alot of money too!
You can find out what works for you at a reduced cost, then buy a new stash of what works.

One major advantage of brick and mortar diaper shopping, is that more people could find out about the GOOD stuff and thus more people would cd.
However, I like the WAHM set up, as I am meeting other cding mamas across the country and helping the WAHMs be able to be at home with their wee ones. Also, fluffy mail has been pretty exciting to me so far! ...something about the anticipation...

LOL isn't it funny? My mom owns a big store/building that used to be a grocery store (my dad's before he passed, when I was two years old) she has kept the building and it now sits empty. Well there is a local health/natural food store in town that has been looking at the building and is interested in leasing it, my mom mentioned that I make slings and natural cloth diapering products and she offered to give me a set up in the store when they move! I get my own whole little section with out having to pay rent/fees or having to worry about the store set up or running the business! She is only taking 5% of total sales for the spot since my mom owns the building! (and she is handling all the sales tax and stuff for me! How cool is that?) I think it will be great, I am looking into gettting a supplier for CPF's to offer here, and possibly making natural fitteds too at some point, but for a while it will be wool soakers and slings! I want a 'real' store to buy from too, but I will sell online still too of course!
