I have decided to hire a doula for my upcoming birth, it is a little late in the game but I have decided that I am not comfortable with DH as my sole support and advocate, long story. I am currently 37 weeks along and hopefully can find someone who will be available in the upcomming weeks. I am delivering at AAMC and have checked out bellywoman.net and will contact some doulas from there but I would love any personal reccomendations from you great mamas. I don't have a huge budget but I am determined to have a natural delivery and know that a doula will help greatly. Any reccomendations/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I started a thread about this recently: <a href="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=914672" target="_blank">http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=914672</a><br>
Feel free to check out some of the recommendations there. Let us know how it goes and happy birthing!

I highly recommend Ludia Sarmast. She was my hypnobabies instructor, and we loved her so much that we hired her as our doula. She was FABULOUS. One of the best things she did was a rehearsal for our homebirth (but she can do hospital too). It really helped us set the stage for our awesome birthing experience (in which she was present, but the midwife didn't make it!). Her website is: <a href="http://www.birthwisdom.net/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.birthwisdom.net/index.html</a><br><br>
Good luck!
