Pretty sure. There used to be a mom here who went to one of them. One of the sons is pretty anti-vax.<br><br>

Absolutely. We dont vax and they support the parents choices fully.

I'd love to know more. I called their office and was told that the only one of the three (Robert Sears) accepts patients who have concerns about vax. Except out of the three, he's the only one that you have to pay upfront. The price sounded prohibitive. I asked if the others (one of them is Jim Sears I believe), who accept insurance, will give me advice and she said she didn't think so.<br>
Basically, I want a pediatrician who will answer my questions when I ask which preservatives are in the vials, uses sings vials, and will be open to my choices?? Would doctor Jim be like that?

Where do they practice in California? I'm moving there in a couple of months and would love to go to their practice, but we probably aren't moving into their area.

We use the Sears practice...Dr Bob is our primary but we have seen Jim and Peter when Jack was sick...<br><br>
I like all 3...we have really had no issues with either Peter or Jim in terms of our choices to selectively vax Jack...<br><br>
I personally am not a huge fan of western medicine but I see the need for them (in a few circumstances) so that said I feel like the are they best of the worst if you will.<br><br>
We really only see them if all herbal remedies fail<br><br>
but I really loved Dr. Bob's bed side manner when Jack was born and he saw Jack as a newborn in the hospital...He was kind and gentle and loving with Jack and us

That is interesting. I know that they have made some changes lately, mainly that now Dr Bob only accepts cash. That is really weird about being told the others dont accept non vaxing patients. We havent been since last year but will be going in another month or so when the baby is born so I will ask them. I know of several people who go to them and dont vax. Im sure Dr Jim would answer your questions! What did she mean, she didnt think they would give you advice, thats really weird. Thats what they are there for!

Southern CA - I think its in Orange County - Capistrano Beach near San Juan Capistrano. North of San Diego and south of LA <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Ok so to update this, I saw Dr. Jim yesterday.<br>
He said thats not true, they ALL accept patients who do not vax.<br>
We also saw Dr. Pete when Dr Jim was on vacation earlier, and he never mentioned vaxes to my recollection. Or if he did I just said something like "we dont vax"<br><br>
Anyhow, I think Dr. Jim is supportive of vaxes, but supports your choice even more. He said if I was considering any vaxes for Cora, he would recommend the Rotavirus one.

Wow, aja-belly, you are driving a long way to the Sears'! How long does it take to get to their office from Westlake Village?! I refer to them often but even those people in the same county don't want to drive "that far"! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
